What distances will you be shooting?

Curious about the scope choice, do you have experience with it.

Max distances will be right around 1000.

Only experience I have with an LRP was 5 shots taken with a 308 to 600 at ASR.
A fellow shooter allowed me to try it as I was curious. Seemed par with the others in that price range. What I liked was the simplicity, along with the elevation turret. Eyebox was not that of the scopes in the 2k+ bracket, but again, it’s also less than half the cost.

Using that new negative muzzle rise configuration, eh? Where does the scope mount?

Nice. Want to build a ORIGIN action. Are you using invisi-nut or 12 point?

Also, what was the lead time on the ridgeback?

I’m using an NSS nut. See pic. If you want to borrow the NSS tools to put yours together, u can use mine. Save yourself a couple hundred dollars.

No lead time on the stock. Red Hawk has them in stock and they run a combo deal with bottom metal. They are on occasion further discounted around holidays. I bedded the action to the Grayboe with Devcon. Was my first pass at bedding, and must say it was much easier than anticipated. Stock has a good feel to it, is it Manners feel, no, but very solid nonetheless (I sold a Manners T6A).

Have an appointment with Randall today for bolt tuning service. The bolt lift on the Bighorns is butter smooth, but the bump on close is abrupt.

Bolt manipulation is night and day difference after tuning service.

Thanks Randall!

Just checking in on updates on your build. I have a origin action on order and looking to possibly go 6 creed as well and was looking at hawk hill 7.5 twist so seeing how it's shooting.
I am looking to probably use the ARC barloc system since my nucleus action is running that system.

Thanks chad

UPDATES:
Current config:
Bighorn Origin
Hawk Hill 6 Creed 7.5. .820” muzzle 26”
MPA Comp chassis w/weight kit
Arc rings
HDMR II with H59 ret
Atlas Cal
TT Special Flat

This thing shoots lasers! Have only been shooting 115 DTACS w/h4350 so cant speak for other bullets or powder.

Bolt is butter smooth, no issues to date (600+ dry fires and 240 live). Shot my first match last month, had a blast!

Barrel sped up around the 100-120 count, and I have yet to check FPS again since initial development, but it was at 2930 with 40.3 of the 4350. I’ve taken it up to 41.5 and stopped there as it started to exhibit pressure sings.

Overall, it’s much more accurate than I am. Barrel was beyond easy to clean, and shoots in the same place every time I take it out of the case. I’m not too picky when it’s comes to SD/ES numbers. My junk shoots where it should, and I have much more obvious areas I can improve (positional shooting, time management, etc.). That said, ES is high teens, but it may have changed.

Building another in March chambered for 224V.
