Thanks, OP. Ordered 4, 2 nozzles, and extra gaskets. Looking forward to throwing away my collection of random POS plastic jugs.

This time around I ordered the cans plus lid & spout replacement gaskets.

What's the best nozzle for these cans. I spilled like a gallon of gas on me and my truck the last time I tried to use the CA approved one.

What about a funnel? Carb and epa can suck it.

I have four the the red HF cans and keep one in the truck. I empty all of them every six months into my truck, refill 'em with 87 and mark the date/price on a piece of painters' tape, then place the remaining three in vented, covered storage.

I use a transfer pump to fuel the truck. No can spout issues.
I have two of those hf cans. Both plastic screw tops broke just from hand tightening. One can partially collapsed during a return trip from altitude.

I've had the Harbor freight cans, and own a couple genuine Wavian cans, and the Wavians are much better. The flame arrestor on the Harbor freight can makes it nearly impossible to fill at the gas station. It stops at 2.5 gallons and you have to extremely slowly fill the remainder. And you can't see the fuel level until it's almost too late because the flame arrestor is in the way.

The harbor freight ones caps suck, every single one of them has poor molding and will easily crack, the spouts they come with are also pretty bad.

The Wavians have noticeably better welding when you inspect them side by side, the flap mechanism is much easier to use and cooler (and wont break if it falls over), and the nozzle they come with (although it's EPA compliant) isn't' that bad to use and snaps into place nicely in the holder that it comes with. No annoying tabs to push or hold while dispensing fuel, you just touch the tip to your gas hole and push. The harbor freight ones don't have a snap holder for the spout and their spout has to be snapped in before you use it.

Even the Wavian can's spout leaks but just a tiny bit out of the retractable safety. But at least it drips down the spout and into your tank instead of on the floor.

ProTip: To make your jerry cans last longer, put a couple layers of black electrical tape on the bottom where they sit on the ground. It will save the paint from being chipped away and eventually rusting.

I recommend ordering from Wavian so you will have a receipt in case you have to warranty it for whatever reason or ask for new gaskets in the future. (They ask for your order number and pics of the can.)

Fast forward to 15 mins 18 seconds.

Wavian is the only answer.

I’ve seen vids of cats spraying bedliner on the bottom of their cans, makes sense.

I’ve ordered from Wavian USA, no complaints, but I’d rather get the same product for $40 less a can. Didn’t know about their gasket replacement, that’s cool, but gaskets are like $2.

Paint them RED and use them for gas.

Why are there 2 different style gaskets?

Doesnt the Cap and Spout use the same gasket?

I called and they confirmed that they are in fact 2 different part numbers. I ordered both so I’ll compare once they arrive.

I've seen steel cans from Valpro and Midwest Can that are similar, but have the round nozzle. The NATO style spout is absolutely the best.

Roverparts is GTG, and whether you receive Wavian or Valpro, they are the best jerry cans out there. The free shipping makes this a very good deal. Order a spout or two and a couple extra gaskets while you're at it.
Looks like Wavian / Valpro made by the same company in Latvia. Their steel is 0.9mm thick.

Gelg is made in Poland. Thickness is 0.8mm

I have a couple Gelg’s, not bad, but they definitely don’t seem a stout as Wavian.

I believe the free shipping ends Monday ~

I have two Canadian Scepter plastic GI cans that leak when pouring. I like the Jerry can much better.
If the scepter can leaks, you have a bad/wrong component in the system or you are doing something wrong.

Are these cans good for storing gas long term? For use in generator and vehicle gas? I'm new to this, thanks.

I’ve bought plenty at regular price, a good deal, but free shipping made it that much nicer.

How do you store these cans if used for gas? Garage, outside shed, etc?

Cans arrived today. They look fantastic. I was wondering how they can sell these in California. They have a sticker on them that says “for use with non-potable water only”

Got the initial “thanks for your order “ email but nothing after that. They just showed up without warning, but that’s ok. Neighbor moved them to his garage until I got home.

Hopefully that's just a legally required sticker. I read that gas cans have some kind of painted lining to withstand holding gas. I intend to put gas in these and have the same sticker on mine.

Received mine last night. I'm impressed with the build quality. Definitely a smoking deal.
I also had the same sticker on the cans. I do intend to use these for gas. So hopefully the interior of the cans will hold up.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I unboxed mine. They're so glossy, seems like they'll scratch easily when tossed in the truck.

Thinking about fabbing a crate that I can set in the truck to secure the cans while in transit.

Mine arrived yesterday and the box was a bit banged up, but the contents (two 20L , two 10L, and two spouts) were packed well with plenty of padding.

Picked mine up tonight at the local Fedex office.

Prior to this order from British Atlantic/Rover parts I have 2 RED Wavians with spouts that I ordered from Holley.com back in Dec 2019 and 2 Green (Blemished) Gelgs from JerryCan.com Dec 2021.

Ordered 4 jerry cans, one spout, 5 can gaskets and 5 spout gaskets from British Atlantic.

Either they sell millions of these each year and they dont give a Frak about handling scratches/dings OR these are Factory 2nds. My blemsished Gelgs cans are in better condition than the crap I got from BA/RoverParts.

Boxed came pretty banged up. Ripped on 2 sides.
All 4 cans had scratches or dings. One big ding that shows bare metal. Need to paint that soon to prevent rust.

I can see a big difference in quality from the Red Wavians and the Blemished Gelgs to the ones from BA.
The bottom floors on the Red Waviand and Gelg are perfectly flat. The floors on the BAs are warped.
