I hear it's all the rage to shoot pistol rounds out of a 16"+ barrel... would love to see what folks have bought or built.
I'll go first, the photo is of my recently built 45 ACP left-hand DI AR carbine. How's that for a unicorn gun!
- Upper: Stag Arms LH upper and LH BCG modified by Rudy Koester of Macon Armory, who also provided a 16" target-crowned barrel, aluminum MLOK handguard, and ambi charging handle.
- Lower: Green Swamp Tactical (now defunct) 80% that runs Glock mags. Finished by me, engraved by Cliff at Laser Marks in San Jose, anodized by New Frontier Armory.
- FCG: ALG Defense Quality Mil-Spec
- Stock: Ace UltraLight on rifle-length receiver extension w/rifle buffer and spring.
- Grip: Exile Machine hammerhead
- Foregrip: Magpul AFG
- Optic: Sig ROMEO 5
I haven't done formal accuracy testing, but with good ammo seems to be a tackdriver at 25 yards and no slouch at 50 yards.
Looking forward to doing some reloading to see what it will do with some juiced 45 ACP rounds.
