CZ75BD vs Beretta 92G
Would like to hear opinions how CZ75BD compares to Beretta 92G as a duty/HD gun. Conditions : Both guns have to be absolutely stock, both guns fit the shooter fine , no Ca limitations as far as roster or mag capacity.

- CZ's grip size will accommodate more hands.
- Both SA triggers are about equal. CZ's DA trigger is better in my opinion. - CZ will have better finish, if that matters to you. - Beretta's reliability is the best I have ever seen. I've seen my Glocks jam (very rarely). But I've never seen a Beretta jam... not once, in many thousands of rounds. I don't have enough rounds through my CZ's to compare accurately. - Beretta's slide is easier to rack and manipulate - Beretta has higher capacity from flush fit mags - Both are smooth, soft shooters. - Beretta is prettier, lol Impossible to choose a winner.

This is sacrilege! Your CZ is bound to stop loving you if you keep talking like this.
This thread needs some reference pics.

Absolute stock, I could go with either one. Any time I see either one of these guns fail, it is after something was changed. I lean towards CZ because I shoot more accurate with it, and manipulation of the slide release, safety/decocker is easier for me on the CZ also.

Out of the box, I'd have to give the nod to the CZ. I own several of both and love them all but it took Wilson Combat ultra thin grips to make my Berettas fit my medium sized hands perfectly. My CZ's fit comfortably right from the start.
For home defense I'd have to go with one in each hand cause I can't decide!!! |

Both are metal. CZ is steel, Beretta is aluminum. The weight of the steel is sure nice though.

I got the Beretta because that's what I was issued in the military. It's what I was trained on. In the event the chips are down I want as few variables as possible.
Barring that, you should rent them both and get the one you feel most comfortable with - the one that is most ergonomic for *you*. |

I'd go with CZ. If you had a steel framed Beretta it's be closer, but the ergo's on the CZ are really hard to match. I personally don't like how the locking block pin wears a divot in the frame of the aluminum framed Beretta pistols and changes the timing of lockup. Contributes to the old breakage issue. (just a personal wish they'd done that better) CZ's just seem to last forever unless modified incorrectly. It's a close call.

I have both a Beretta 92A1 and a CZ SP01. I would take the 92 for HD/Duty over the CZ.

I’ve got a few Beretta M9/92’s and couple of CZ 75’s. I prefer the DA trigger on the Beretta over the CZ. However the grip on the CZ fits better. Both excellent which is why I own both. I know the OP said no mods, but I think with a simple change of the grips and replacing the hammer spring, makes the Beretta an even better shooter.

I own both and really, its personal preference based on how it feels in your hand. I find the CZ slide much smaller to find in a "tap-rack-bang" or dropping the slide. I find the 92g decocker less egronomic.

They're both quality firearms. Go to a range with a good rental counter. Shoot both and then make your decision. You can't go wrong either way.

I'm a CZ fan at heart, but have a special place for my 92G-SD right up there with my SP-01 Tactical & P-01. Out of the box the 92G-SD's trigger has the edge, however the CZs triumphs in all other aspects.

I've had both but still have my Beretta. Magazines are plentiful and cheap for the beretta and reliability is near legendary. The G model gets rid of the only real negative the beretta could have but with the cz clearing malfunctions with next to no slide to grasp can be challenging especially in a stressful situation.

The 92fs was my first pistol, I've had it for over 25 years, still have the same one. I also have a 92a1.
I also have a CZ 75 SP01, PCR and 97B. I have more time behind the Berettas, but I shoot the CZs better. Right now I compete with the SP-01 & 97B (9mm and 45ACP for different 3gun divisions), the PCR is for carry, the 92A1 (with light) is for bedside, the 92fs is in the safe. All that being said, it will be different for everyone, you should shoot them both and see how they fit you. |
