Default 80% Arms GST-9 80% Glock Compatible Pistol Frame

Hello CalGunners! Our latest product is the GST-9; our 80% Glock® compatible pistol frame build.

The GST-9 is the world's first modular 80% pistol compatible with Glock® components and both Glock® 17 and Glock® 19 magazines. Not only did we want an 80% frame that looked as good or better than any 100% handgun on the market, we engineered it from the inside out to improve upon the original Glock® design. The GST-9 frame is packed with features not found anywhere else. We spent two years studying customer feedback to determine what features were missing among the different options, and not only incorporated what we found, but we gave you the option to choose how to build your frame. Features include:

Extended Internal Rails
Exaggerated Gas Pedal Cuts
Nickel Mating Surfaces
Trigger Guard Undercut
Compatible With Glock® Parts
Full 1913 Picatinny Rail
Modular frame w/ Interchangeable Grip Sizing & Magwells
Fits in Glock® Holsters

Every GST-9 pre-order ships with two separate grip modules to create both a standard and a full-size frame that attaches to the contoured frame body for improved ergonomics and shootability. Flared magwells speed up reload times, and our ultra-slick nickel-coated rails which are three-times original OEM length keep tolerances tight and recoil managed for quick, precise shooting. Why settle for a pistol made for someone else's hands?

FRAME ONLY $79.99 (SAVE $40 DURING PRE-SALE SALE)

PISTOL BUILD KIT $699.99 (SAVE $150 DURING PRE-SALE)

JIG AND TOOLING KIT $19.99

*** Glock® is a trademark of Glock Inc. The GST-9 is not manufactured by or endorsed by Glock Inc.

We are the nation's leading manufacturer of 80% jigs and lowers. We sell 80% products in all states where permitted. Presently, all 80% frames and lowers are legal to sell and purchase in CA. However, CA is governed by a minefield of different laws when it comes to building 80% lowers. We cannot provide legal advice to CA residents or to the residents of all the other states who purchase 80% products from us.

Thank you! Are you planning to release it in different colors? White, perhaps?

Interesting, so if I had a G19. All I would have to do is buy a frame and switch over all the stock components to the new frame? This is completely legal as well?

Sorry I’m a newb. I really wanted to get a G19 but the Gen3 finger grooves was a no go. Thinking about getting a second gun in the future. This would be a nice solution to my situation.

Thanks!

Does it contain the 3.7 ounces of 17-4 PH Stainless Steel required in order to lawfully be built into a complete weapon in California? (Please refer to Penal Code section 29180(b)(2)(B) for the requirement).

From the description/pictures on their website, it does not appear to contain the CA required amount of stainless steel.

However, until 07-01-2024; it is CA legal to make, import, advertise for sale, transfer, and possess that "80% receiver/frame" in CA.

Since 07-01-2018, it is not CA legal to do so.

Which is exactly my point, what can a California resident do with their frame other than use it as a paperweight?

What do we all think of the business practices of an outfit that promotes their product on a California oriented website knowing full well that their California customers cannot legally complete the frame?

Can you just glue a piece of metal onto the inside of the frame to add the required 3.7oz of metal ?

Not all calguns members are in CA, and even those who are have family/friends outside CA that might be very interested in such a product...

Please note: This is a new product announcement area, and not a legal advice topic. We sell 80% products in all states where permitted. With that said, presently all 80% frames and lowers are legal to sell and purchase in CA. However, CA is governed by a minefield of different laws when it comes to building 80% lowers. We cannot provide legal advice to CA residents or to the residents of all the other states who purchase 80% products from us.

That may be true, but that's not the focus of the forum. This is "Calguns", not "Texguns", "Idguns", "Nevguns" or whatever other kinda "guns".

This outfit's marketing leads the customer to believe that can build their 80% product into a completed weapon, which is not the case for the California market.

Nope: 1) That doesn't comply with the requirements of the statute. 2) There's no place inside the frame that you could fit the required amount of metal and still have the weapon function.

For now we are releasing frames in black and FDE as that comprises the vast majority of customers' preference. However, we have not ruled out also offering other colors. Please check back in Spring to see if additional colors have been added. Thanks!

Hello RickD427,

No, the frame does not have 3.7 oz of steel in it.

I want to hear more about the progress of this project. Been wanting to order several since hearing about it in November, but there haven't been any actual product photos, or press previews. Would really want to see more information about this lower in real life and not just renders, a campy promo video, or a regurgitation of PRs.

Hello pln,

Sorry for the late reply. For some reason our Calguns emails went to spam...

As a little background on injection molding, the final step (of a very long process) of creating the tooling is applying the texture and stippling to the molds. Therefore, the actual live product images released so far have been without texture or stippling. Very soon texture and stippling will be added to the tooling and we'll release photos when this final step is completed. The production frame will look awesome. (One of the driving forces behind this frame was to not only to make it functionally superior, but also to make it look like a premium 100% frame you would buy in a gun store.)

Press reviews will be forthcoming as we get closer to the launch.

Everything is still looking good for production in early Spring.

Sorry to bring back an older thread. I’m very interested in this.

If I understand it correctly, there needs to be a specific amount of steel in the frame and a permanently etched unique serial. Will this kit meet those requirements in its final form?

They are taking tons of orders but shipping time is counted in months..... multiple months.... if you want to wait at least 3-4 months and more for your order...then go ahead... you've been forewarned. My order has...

Been waiting for months now , all I keep getting from them is , we are still working on it , please be patient , we are making the best possible product for our customers. That’s nice but don’t tell us it will ship date and make us wait 6+ months past your ship date with nothing but excuses. I don’t think those of us that pre ordered and paid for these will ever get them.

I am looking forward to receiving my pre-order but I wonder if I will ever see it given the political climate. Add to that, the fact that people from last year are still waiting on delivery makes my April 2020 order seem like I won’t see mine until late 2021. Every time I see an email from 80% pushing more people to buy their products all while probably hundreds of people are waiting for their orders; feels like a slap in the face. I read their website last week and they explained their whole situation but this has been the same story since before I even placed my order. Don’t get me wrong, I know I can cancel my order at any time but I really do want my order to be filled and will be excited to receive it. But when will I receive it? The only update customers get is ‘due to issues outside of our control, blah blah blah, we are behind’. I get it, COVID has effected plenty of business and industries. But to not provide any real information on general dates have ever been given by 80%. I am curious if anyone in Garden Grove could drive by their shop and see if they are truly running 24/7. 80% needs to step up their game and tell us a ball park figure/estimate when we can expect delivery.

I canceled my order and got my money back after asking several times. I’m not willing to gamble on whether I ever get it. When I ordered, they didn’t show as backordered and were claiming they were shipping and would be caught up months ago. Good luck to anyone waiting. I hope they get caught up, I really would like to build one.

No joke. I purchased 2 suppressors AFTER I placed my order for my GST-9. I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would have received my 2 suppressors before I received my GST-9 order. Hell I have another suppressor that is in NFA jail that I purchase in July and I honest believe they I will get it back before I take delivery of my 80% lower.

I hope I am proven wrong but from talking with many disgruntled customers who still waiting for their lower to arrive, 80%’s emails trying to drum up more business and finally the fact that the only reviews I have found are from industry Youtubers makes me wonder if they are actually making any Lowers at all.

I remember when Polymer80’s came out. Every Joe Smo was posting about their builds. Is anyone seeing the same thing about the GST-9?

I receive my March 2020 GST-9 order just before Christmas. I was skeptical about how it would feel compared to factory or friends P80 lower but once I had it or together I have to say it is a well thought out and produced design. It feels thicker in the hand than the P80 and more refined than a OEM lower. It feels great in my hands and works as expected. I have not had a chance to shoot it much due to limited ammo but this far it has not given me any problems. I have to say, kudos to 80% Arms for a great product, you will not be disappointed when you get yours. Now I just need to find a G19 long slide so I don’t have to keep swapping out the slide on my G19. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the G17 length adapter makes it feel even better.

@SVT-40 - We are currently filling April GST-9 orders. April orders will be filled by the end of January. We've added and continue to add extra capacity to accelerate the pace of filling GST-9 backorders. We're operating 24/7, 7 days a week, and through every holiday to get our products out as fast as we can manufacture them. Thanks for hanging in there!

@Mac Attack - Thank you for your comments. We're excited about the GST-9 and that you're happy with your GST-9!

We know the frustration of the long wait and we've been doing every thing possible to increase production. (And yes, we should have done a better job at updating status of orders.) While it may appear we are not shipping a lot of product based on posts by frustrated customers with the long lead times, we have more than doubled capacity this past year for all of our products and shipped more products this past year than ever before. For that we sincerely thank you and all of our customers for your patience and trust in 80% Arms.

From the website:

Because the GST-9 is not a firearm, in most cases, it is currently legal to purchase and own an unfinished frame in California. California law prohibits building an off-roster handgun as well as a homebuilt firearm that does not contain an integral 3.7 oz piece of stainless steel. If you are purchasing a GST-9 that ships to California, you certify that you have a law-enforcement exemption, or intend to build and maintain the product outside of the state.

a year is pretty crazy for injection molded plastic.

Hi Skurd - While we are now filling orders from April, that does not mean it will take 9 month to get a GST-9 if one is ordered today. For reference, our production volume is up substantially and we have filled 6 months of backorders in the past 60 days. We also continue to add additional capacity on further reduce fulfillment time.

Due extreme market demand, and raw material shortages that impact the entire firearms industry, it's not possible nor prudent to give specific delivery times for new orders. Who would have guessed 6 months ago that major ammo suppliers like Hornady would have a 3 year manufacturing backorder now? We anticiipate the wait will not be excessive in light of our current production volume and extra production coming online. If at any point you no longer want to wait, you can cancel and get a refund. We have a full money back guarantee.
