Yeah but aren't they saying that is Remington's fault?

or, as i suspect, will they leave the plaintiffs lurching in the wind
They will. Brady screwed over the parents that sued luckygunner

Bah!
More libtard logic. It'll eventually get tossed out and the parents will be on the hook for Remington's legal costs while the Bradys and the rest leave them holding the bag.

DOA. The 2005 firearms laws prevents suing any manufacturer for the results of the miss use of their product.

You would figure the lawyers filing this would have read that.

Can I sue Honda and jack Daniels for my injuries occurred in a car accident where a drunk driver ran a stop sign and t-boned me?

They have done some gymnastics arguing that a CT consumer protection law on marketing makes Remmington liable. Thumbing through the decision it's a fairly complex set of legal theories at work.

That depends, did JD or Honda advertise their products as ideal companions for the fun activity of driving drunk?

Based on what Fiddleton and ChuckDizzle pointed out, (ad thanks for the clarifications to both of them), this isnt about misuse, it's about advertising. This seems to be the equivalent of the ads showing a car drifting, then suing Honda because someone drifted a car into a crowd of idiots watching street racing, based on the premise that since street racing is illegal, then showing an ad with a car doing something similar is also illegal, because Connecticut law bans showing an ad promoting criminal behavior to sell a product.

I'd say it's going nowhere, except this is Connecticut, and all bets are off. They keep electing Richard Blumenthal, a proven stolen valor liar

Did Remington advertise that their tools would be great for going to an elementary school and killing a bunch of innocent kids and adults?

So by that logic, all smartphones can be liable including ISPs.

While I'm not familiar with the elements of the law in question you're probably right on the low odds of prevailing at trial. At worst they will have a Bushmaster ad showing soldiers or police tactic types holding the rifle. That's certainly not a criminal activity any more than it is for Honda to advertise their racing heritage when selling bikes or cars.

Get ready for gun ads to say "professional operator in a training environment" at the bottom.

Regarding the marketing approve of certain gun companies.
I like the M1A magazine ad with a camo clad man in the low crawl position.
The top has the words in caps " FEAR NO EVIL "

It would seem if there was an M14 equipped man at that school when the EVIL punk went off.
There would have have lots less murder on that day.

The state should be sued for making schools a gun free target rich environment !
Guns save lives is more than a slogan. Its a provable truth!

It's sad that's required to prevent idiots from darwining themselves and others.

The way these lawsuit go forward. How manufacturers can be sued for misuse of products. It opens new gateway for others to sue.

And far above the conceptual thinking of the average affirmative-action jury. Then again, if it's civil court needing 50% plus 1 all bets are off. This could be the final exiting of any remaining gun manufacturers from that state.
