Lots of guns owned for decades are off the DOJ radar and should remain that way. Vestiges of free America here in Commiefornia.

If Tom has a C&R FFL for 6 years and acquires an average of 10 firearms per year and sells 10% of his firearms each year. After he retires he sells 3 firearms per month for one year...
What is his average speed for the entire trip?

I'd say the vast majority of guns the vast majority of Calgunners own are in the DROS database or on a 4473 on file somewhere.

I actually don't know how many guns I own! I need to do a current inventory. I redid and sold a lot of my collection but also acquired a lot of new guns.

It's a triple digit number but well in excess of 100 but less than 999.

That's why I mentioned 2014 in the post you quoted me on. Also there is still a 4473 on file that the ATF can go see anytime they want unless it was way before 2014 and the shop hasn't gone out of business. FFL's are required to hold 4473's for 20 years or send them in to ATF if newer than that and going out of business.

Or was a private purchase curio and relic long gun purchased before 2014 in CA.

That said, I'd suggest that MANY handgun sales are done person to person, without an FFL and consequently without registration.
Id assume the majority of Calgunners follow CA gun laws regarding legal gun sales in CA. And I'd think the vast majority of active members here were not of legal age to legally transfer handguns without going through a PPT DROS. I believe that ended in 1992.

If Newscum had his way, he'd arrest me for just thinking about owning a gun. Thankfully, he's not my problem anymore.

Well, this poll isn't fair. Why isn't 0 an option? People could be CalGuns members and own 0. Could be new members, current shoppers, or just freedom lovers that don't feel the need to own their own.

Clearly, I own 0. But I marked 1 since it's the closest to 0 I could get.

You guys that are saying "the DOJ knows, because muh 4473" must not realize that handguns existed before 1992, and long bois before 2014. Christ, part of the full auto ban of 86 was registration, that's how they became "transferable." I myself am genuinely curious just how many guns that no government entity has knowledge of are actually out there. There are A LOT. Whenever I hear the grabbers talk about confiscation, that's the first thing I think of. They will NEVER be able to disarm America.

Shame we'll never know just how many are really out there.

Millions of guns exist without the government knowing who owns them. However in CA that number is lesser because even before 1992 and even though paperless private transfers were legal CA has had a form of handgun registration for many decades if purchasing from a FFL.

Also the 4473 came in to being in 1968. I don't know about you all but I've purchased many guns from stores that have subsequently went out of business. Any 4473 forms the store had less than 20 years old by law get sent to ATF when they go under.

So you can talk about boating accidents and other silly memes but I guarantee the vast amount of guns the vast amount of Calgunners legally own have some sort of paper trail and in many cases the government knows exactly what you own.

Do large caliber rivers count as 2?
Large caliber pistols as 1.5?
Semiautomatic shotguns as 1.27986754567?

Please help, this new math is so complicated!
