We are in the process of having custom stencils made in order to apply the kryptek pattern. We will want to test out the pattern prior to offering it and to determine what to charge.

This pattern is almost always applied through hydrodipping (a pre-printed film wrapped around the firearm), which looks cool but is an extremely delicate coating that is useless aside from cosmetics. We are developing a way to apply this pattern with Cerakote making it a much better choice with more color options. This pattern will require a combination of custom stencil work and freehand airbrushing.

I will be sure to post on this thread once we offer this pattern.

oohhhkaaayyy... I'll take one for the team *sigh* and be the guinea pig - you can test it on one of my rifles...

On a serious note - KUDOS to OCCC for stepping up to the challenge!!! I look forward to the pics... between that and the project you are working on for me, OC Custom Coating could be setting the bar

I'm looking to get my girlfriend's rifle coated but the last thing she wants is a hello kitty girly finish. Y'all are more than welcome to try a kryptek finish with some little pink accents on it if you'd like!

^ I know, right? The green was different, but it came out well. And then she asked for Kermit.... Though not my cup of tea, I think it really did come out well in the end.

Thanks for all the pics and feedback that everyone posted. Much appreciated.

Our current turnaround time for complete firearms is approximately 5 weeks out. However, if you have an item or two (e.g., stripped lower or handguard) that are already disassembled then we are typically able to turn them around within 1-2 weeks.

Our engraver is coming in this Saturday to do another round of engravings. Take a look through some of the pics posted above in this thread for examples of work he has done. I don't know of anyone else in Southern California who can engrave with the quality, depth, and detail that our engraver achieves.

If anyone is interested in engraving parts by this weekend please email me with the exact text and/or image that you want engraved and I can get you a quote. Please send the information to info@occustomcoating.com

Thank you!

The engraving is amazing! I've seen some of the work in person, and of course the awesomeness in this thread...

I'm no expert, and never really dealt with engraving before - but in comparison to what I've seen in photos from other engravers, OCCC's engraver is much more detailed - truly art!

I'm looking forward to having my current project completed - with the engraving sweetness!

Finished! Thank you Paul!

Two-Toned gradient blend - custom mixed grey blending into battle ship grey... it started as a simple grey - they just morphed into this Shark Theme... Paul's engraver did some awesome work on the shark graphic as well as lettering (I'll post closeups of lettering later)

Our shop is now offering engraving services on a regular basis. If you need a quote please email us at info@occustomcoating.com and include the following information:
- Text and/or logo that will be engraved
- location that it will be engraved (e.g., AR magwell right side)

We will add a section to our website soon where you can view a gallery of our engravings. In the meantime the thread above has some pics of recent work we have completed.

Hi Friends, below are a few pics. The Kryptek is just a small sample. We'll have some additional Kryptek patterns on full ARs posted in the near future.

The M1As are highly custom rifles that we recently coated and fully assembled. As an M1A enthusiast I have to say that I am very impressed with the quality from both LRB Arms (manufacturer of the FDE M1A) and of the JAE (J-Allen) stocks on the rifles. They are pricy items but you truly get what you pay for with.
