Sparrow Dynamics has hit a HOME RUN with this one!!
The packaging is informative and simple.
It needed a bit of a file work for a perfect fit on my NFA 9mm lower. It is quite tough. I had to hit it with a rubber mallet many times during the fitting process. In the end the grip feels very solid and It is very comfortable. Even those who are not going featureless should consider this grip... it's that comfortable... I like the light texture. I like the addition of the star and stripes and the logo.. over all it is pleasing to the eye and was very well thought out.
All of my compliant grips will be replaced with the sparrow grip.... thanks
Thank you so much for this review! We really do appreciate the feedback from everyone. Nice 9mm too!

Gray grips are coming soon that will match the Magpul Stealth Gray.

Hi, I'm almost ready to order based on the input of other Calgunners. I have one question though. Why are there no finger grooves or something more ergonomic than just a straight slant on the bottom?

Finger grooves may fit well for some but may not be comfortable for others. A flat surface ensured a comfortable fit. I believe that Glock has removed the finger grooves on the Gen5 for that same reason... Just my 2¢

That would be my same 2¢. Some people like finger grooves but many people hate them. Our grip is quite comfortable without them.

I wrote a FAQ page about our grip with fixed stocks. Please excuse the blog software/format... it works for now. :/

FAQ with Fixed Stocks

Maybe this will help answer your question how it works with the PRS stock.

P.S. I have used photos with permission but may have missed one. If I used your photo and you don’t want me to, just let me know and I will immediately remove it. Thanks!

Curious if you though about a cap or plug to turn the open portion of the grip into a storage compartment? It would be an awesome idea

Yes, we are working on an innovative grip storage solution that will work will all our existing grips. We are very busy, so hopefully we can finish that soon. It will require molds (which take time), so please be patient. We will notify everyone when that is available.

Awesome!
Coincidence: The gray version went live 3/30/18 shortly after you posted this.

It was a difficult process to color match Magpul Stealth Gray, but it was worth it.

I bought 5 a couple of weeks ago and missed the sale. This is the best featureless grip I've fingered so far. Looks good too. Now I don't need to take my old pistol grips to AZ anymore. I no longer look like a California dork.

I had no interest in owning an AR until CA told me that I couldn't. Finally building out the lower I bought before gunmageddon. Sent my Thordsen gen3 back for a refund and picked up one of your grips along with a stockstop. Much easier on the wallet and looks just as good if not better!

That sounds just like my gun buying story. The gun grabbers don't realize how good they are at gun sales.

Thanks! That's awesome! We appreciate the kind comments and your business.

Hey, folks. In other threads I've been mentioning a tennis grip tape solution to the rub/scrap castlenut issue for those of us whose thumb joint reaches that high when using the Sparrow Dynamics grip. Here are some pics:

Can't vouch for that last photo being a completely accurate representation of my grip, but it's close enough to show the general idea. This tape comes in several colors, but I thought the basic mat black would match best, and it did. I like this solution better than electrical or other sticky tapes because this stuff is soft, and also provides a good grip, sweat absorbent surface should you need it.

Got my grip in the mail, quick shipping, quality product, it was a little snug on the fit but nothing concerning. Once it’s locked down and installed the fit is really exact so there are no gaps anywhere. I hate that I have to make a change, but getting over that, I’m pretty happy with it. I feel like I can manipulate the firearm similar to my previous set up just a little more awkward. I will need to switch to an ambi selector and they have one that does look compelling, just pushing off that purchase for a bit. Trigger work is actually not bad, I can reach the trigger easy and it feels natural pulling the trigger, where it really feels different is mostly just moving, transitioning and holding the rifle one handed. I’ve played around with grips that have a fin and this is where why I chose the angled grip, even though it feels kinda awkward I can still hold the rifle one handed. I do not feel comfortable holding he rifle one handed with a fin type grip. I do hit the buffer tube and castle nut so I might do the same thing as above with grip tape of come kind to smooth out the hard edges that are irritating. Overall happy with my purchase and if I can’t have my MOE+ this is the next best thing.

Has anyone switched from a gen II Thordsen to a Sparrow? If so - thoughts?

I love the way the Thordsen feels, but not looks.

Have you played with the idea of an interchangeable grip style interchangeable backstrap style? Like how The ATI scorpion grip has a rubber backstrap u can slide on and off and affix via a screw. I would imagine if it were possible on your platform that it would have to be structurally strong enough to hold the weight of the rifle which is a challenge because mutual areas between a featureless and pistol grip is small and just that square area under the end plate.

Are you guys considering an extra long lever option for those of us who want to continue using our thumb to actuate the safety?

Since I had a Luth MBA-2 and just received a Sparrow, I set out to modify the Luth stock to provide thumb clearance.

Removed the segment of the stock just above the grip.

Still not enough room for my fat thumb, so machined a bit from the round portion above the grip.

Good clearance now. Here's the assembled rifle.

This really seems like the best option for going featureless in CA. I was planning on ordering one soon for my first AR build but had a question..

Is there any update on the plug that will allow storage options? Would this part be available as an add-on in the future?

Thanks!

I have down two rifle with this grip. It is awesome. Very comfortable and easy to use, especially when you run a ambi safety. On one, I have a 60/90 with the 60 ran backwards.

Yes, we are working on an innovative grip plug/storage solution. We are getting closer and I am hopeful it will be ready the first quarter of 2019. I'm really hopeful it will be ready for SHOT show at the end of January... but we will see. It WILL be compatible with all of our existing grips out there.

That is a nice looking rifle Ajlopez281. If you don't mind telling, what stock is that. It looks like a great choice for a fixed stock with the Sparrow.

Thanks!

Thank you.
Rigma, it’s a Phase5wsi Rifle Mini Stock Assembly(RMSA) http://phase5wsi.com/rifle-mini-stoc...mbly-rmsa.html. It’s super comfortable and light. It balances the rifle well. Just need to figure a way to attach a sling.

The stock has a hole in it that isn’t visible. I will probably loop some paracord thru it or on the portion of the buffer that has the threads exposed. I did it on another rifle and worked really well
