Here is another Bad guy which seems to be the same MO and phone number info of previous posts above.

I just posted this WTB about an hour ago and below is what he PM'ed me.

I made the deal of $360 for the DD 18" barrel, DD gas block, gas tube, and the Toolcraft BCG. I was dealing with a person at 626-466-5079. I drove out to S. El Monte at 10650 Rush St. (IMS) to do the deal during his work hour. Since the communication have been good. I trusted the guy, and he said they are factory sealed. We exchanged the parts and money. He ran in to work and ignored all my calls when I discovered he only gave me the barrel and the carrier in the boxes. I don't have the gas block, gas tube, and the bolt.... I called, I texted the person
All ignored....
the Seller felt that I lowballed him, and only give what he felt should be the price. This is not how most people here on Calguns do business.
I've bought many items here and sold a few. first time this happened.

Posted a WTB thread about a geissele 1.93 scope mount

He replied and stated that he had one at a mutually agreeable price.
I pointed out he had been a member here since June 2020 and only had 4 posts so I was a little hesitant but he retorted I've been a member here for 8 years and had only 80 posts at that time (fair point...)

Both figured out he was local so decided on a FTF sale

Said he was busy that weekend with family stuff but following week would work. He promised to send pics but never did.

Contacted him the following week (mid week) Agreed that Sunday would work. I set aside time with family to drive 45min to meet him for the sale. Repeatedly asked for pics and location to meet. And only met with radio silence. Sent him my email and cell contact as well with no response.

Sent over 5 PM to follow up. No response.

Gave him over a week in case there was some personal issues going on. Noticed he hadn't been active on the board for a few days. But recently I have noticed he has been logged on and still no response to PM's.

Is the net of all this that you just avoid the WTB forum like the plague? Do legitimate sales happen there, because it seems like most of the scams brought up on these "Beware of Seller" threads originate in that forum. I've frankly avoided posting there myself for fear of spinning my wheels with BS sellers/offers.

WTB means they know you want it so they congregate there.

FTF is not typically a problem.

People telling you they have a friend that has the item, just email "xxx" and money up front is required is almost automatically a scam.

If the price is too good to be true, probably a scam.

Zero iTrader and new member: Be careful, but we were all new once.

Long time member, high iTrader, little to worry about but issues have occurred once in a while.

Look at the message. Can't figure it out?

Do you see Tecno CC7? That is a smart phone made available to...Nigeria and Pakistan.

I don't have to reply to figure out this dude is a scammer.

Beware of this dude, very suspicious. Has had the same 2 AK pistols for sale for a while, and this is after he told me he had a buyer a week ago.

We agreed on a price and he canceled on me after accepting another offer from a guy, without letting me match the new price. That was a week ago, and since then the same gun has been posted 3 more times at 2 different prices on multiple threads, and I see the same gun on a different gun listing site at yet again another price.

Just be careful, the buyer last week was obviously a lie.

New account created today.

Could be good intent, but the phone is also a Nigeria / Pakistan export.

No it is not good intent. We are in the US, where our phone # is sufficient enough for text messaging, and not to use a third party app for texts.
That is a 100% scammer.

Well with the whole covid, civil unrest, penalties for crime going down, people are taking advantage of those who seek things feverishly...I have done some recent FTF, but there's always overwatch around, and I'm still placing my faith in humanity if you have enough feedback to do electronic payment.

I ask him a few questions, (Pics) and what not and he Emailed me right away with Pics and answered my questions. We continued to talk in Email for 3 days Then i gave him my Cell # which would be easer to talk to... We Text for 2 and 1/2 days later, and he would answer me right away... Thursday evening Calif time 10pm I sent him the money per paypal. He asked me to send it to his wife email and i did... The next Day Last Friday he sent me a message and gave me a Tracking Number THAT WAS NO GOOD.. And NOW HES NOT Responding Text, Email, Phone calls... His wife even said she got the payment and shes Poof gone as well....

I was one of probably several that reported it was a scammer early this morning. He had about 7 Posts saying he can provide just about anything anybody would ever want with those words.
Once they are banned for this the mods remove them from the system completely I believe.

I have heard this name mentioned more than once yet not one of the people accusing this person of being a scammer has given him a negative iTrader rating to warn the rest of us.

Please use the red triangle to report these scammers also.

Great that the bank can handle this for you.

To help the rest of us out, we need to be warned by more than just naming them in this thread.

All of us can see a negative iTrader rating, not many of us keep a list from this thread.

To give an iTrader rating:
Copy the URL of the deal thread.
Click on the blue iTrader rating for the person.
Paste the URL and then remove the "s" from https.
Fill in all the boxes, including the optional one.

The red triangle in the upper right of posts and PMs alerts the moderators to a problem and they can cancel the account to at least slow them down.
