Give him one last text/chance to make it whole maybe he got duped from someone else and just want to past the buck but still not right or who knows maybe he's a major counterfeiter, if not made whole, provide his info to local Secret Service office, they love cases like this.

Sorry man, that sucks. I know the feeling all to well. Seems like scammers are becoming more common on CGN.

Lately, I've been paying with regular PayPal w/ added fees versus friends and family/gift just for that little extra reassurance of opening a claim if sellers fail to follow through. It's saved my butt more than once this year. Including one guy immediately issuing a refund once he saw it wasn't friends/family.

Dang man, that sucks. If you kept the money order receipt, I think you can file a claim to cancel it. I hope you get your money back, ASAP. You have to be cautious with new members/persons with zero feedback.

I was almost scammed myself, but I paid the seller w/ PayPal non-friends/family & included the extra 3% fee for reassurance. As soon as I sent the money, he immediately refunded it.

I think we should bombard scammers with phone calls esp. when their phone number is posted. Let us know if that's what you want us to do.

Also: STOP SENDING FUNDS W/O PROTECTION (i.e. PayPal F&F, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, etc). If a seller refuses to accept regular PayPal, then you'll know it's likely a scam.

I sent regular PayPal and the seller/scammer refunded my money and asked for F&F.

I don't think vouches are a problem. Maybe those that vouched for him was FTF transactions where scamming could not happen and the scam took place in a paypal-esque transaction. Those that meet FTF would not have known whether the seller is a scammer or not.

Same here! The guy in Texas supposedly has the mags I needed. I asked him to write the date on a piece of paper and he photo shopped it instead and swore up and down it was legit!

I was messaged by user name ALLAN WALKER referring me to a Mike that has items for sale.

I contacted Mike via email that Allan provided. Mike responds within minutes and emailed back and fourth to settle the deal for the Surefire transaction. The moment after I transfer funds to him, he stopped replying and replied a day later saying he didn't receive the money. I reply to him asking for tracking number...another day goes by and then replies, I haven't didn't receive the money on time so I didn't mail it. "I will mail it this morning" He says.

I send me another email asking if he's mailed it yet, no response.

I can't 100% confirm no deny yet, however do you guys feel like there's a red flag? Let me know your thoughts

If you haven't received it In a week I would say it's a red flag and he doesn't plan on shipping it.

I had posted a WTB ad for a Daniel defense upper and was contacted on 7/6 via email by an individual by the name of “ Mark Harry” and he had stated that he had a M4A1 upper with a fixed sight post for sale. He stated that he had wanted $800 shipped for the complete upper and that he would contact me on Thursday 7/9 with shipping info . As of this feedback being left on 7/12/20 he has yet to reach out to me with shipping info and it pretty much looks like I was scammed. I’m more mad at myself for proceeding to send money to an individual I didn’t know but that’s the risk we take as buyers for items that need to be shipped. It’s just unfortunate that there’s people out there who take advantage of other who work hard for their money just to get ripped off.

Please look out for these emails if you encounter them , in pretty sure they have been disconnected by now.

The real giveaway (besides the conflicting e-mail addresses) was this message "although it has a few scratches, it is in an excellent working condition and all control knobs are fully functional"

I was also contacted by new user today, who registered 9 days ago and has 0 posts with the same type of offer others are receiving. He has private seller who has what I want. Do not fall for these offers!
