Default Shooting Spot Near Rosamond

I was at a spot yesterday where you can shoot a big farther, but still into a hill, and with less incline and noticed someone had moved some dirt to make a roadblock and posted a no trespassing/shooting into the area sign about 200 yards in, where I started to set my target. The sign didn't look to be BLM or Kern County. Maybe it's private? it hasn't been posted before I moved to a different area rather than take a chance as my bullets would have impacted past the sign. Anyway, it is getting to be a mess in that area and people are noticing. We can at least clean up our own mess and maybe a bit more if it will fit and hopefully we can keep shooting there.

There is a spot on blm near rosamond but mey be closed. Look up blm map and shooting restrictions. If posted and private then stay off. I just checked all blm west of hwy 14 and south of 138 is in stage 3. Until you get past mojave.

Yes be cautious of that, the BLM off Willow Springs Road is a frequented spot but requires crossing private to get to and many people so stop too close to the road and shoot on that private property and is not a good idea. I haven’t been here in a couple years now.

It looks like that map is west of 14 then no target shooting on blm. That is in stage 3 restrictions.

Default Shooting Spot Near Rosamond

Yes there are a bunch if small BLM areas out there, all in restriction, my point was more that many shooters actually miss the real BLM area and shoot nearby on private land because someone previously used it for shooting and left trash. Just because people shoot there before doesn’t mean it ok to. Signage posted by a land owner at any of those near but wrong locations should be respected.

The red waypoint in this map is where I posted above and if you go there you find a bunch of shooting debris, mostly not on BLM, right at the corner of the BLM square.

In this map all the yellow squares are bits of BLM. This app is very useful for that because you can see real-time your location versus the overlay.
