Nonsense, Kalashnikov would never have stated that as he's much more happier with modern stuff on his creation.
Look at that sad photo and this one where he's clearly much happier.

Here is my WASR-10 (Romanian AK-47). 100% refinished. I personally conducted all of the work myself. I fully disassembled then media blasted the entire rifle using 70 grit aluminum oxide. Prepped by degreasing with acetone, out gassed and then coated with CeraKote's "H" series "Patriot Brown" and "Flat Dark Earth" (FDE) inside and out. Kiln cured at @250*F for 2 hours. Reassembled with a full trigger job and function tested...GTG!

Details:
-Roman Arms WASR-10
-Cerakote Finishes (FDE & Patriot Brown)
-Custom Fabricated Bolt Extension
-Voltor AR15 Stock Adaptor
-Magpul CTR w/ .5" Riser
-Magpul AFG II
-Magpul XTS Rail Covers
-ERGO Ladder Rail Covers
-Burris Fast Fire II Reflex Sight
-Midwest Industries AK47 Rail System
-Falcon Industries SAW Pistol Grip
-Custom Fabricated Safety Lever Extension
-Solar Tactical AK Magazine Lock
-10/30 Custom Magazines
-Surefire Scout Light (Wraped in USMC MARPAT Desert Camo Form)
-Weaver 45* Offset Light Rail

MY Featureless AK.. This project took about 3-4 hours (cutting, filing, drilling/taping etc).
Stock is pinned and just for extra strength tubes are connected, so it it's one stock in a way, (CA sucks).

Very nicely done! It looks like the compensator is on sideways though.

Traditional AK's and especially with wooden furniture just don't do it for me and AR's are not my thing either.
With that stated, there's many ways one can improve on AK just like with any other rifle that you prefer. AK's just so happen to be my preference.
Yes, all these mods make rifle easier to shoot/handle. In my particular experience they make the rifle more accurate as well and I believe its combinations of things.

Converted Saiga (newer series with 24mm FSB).
Cheek weld with this scope + Magpul CTR stock is outstanding, well balanced and very easy to place on target, a world of a difference when compared to traditional AK.
Those Hand guards dissipate heat much better than any wood or polymer.

IOR 4x24 (tac scope)

Russian 24mm compensator has internal baffle, reduces recoil a bit but sound very unusual/weird, not like any AK muzzle break I've shot with. Only drawback is that its not chromed lined as some of the other Russian muzzle devices. Needs to be removed for proper cleaning but that's not a big deal anyway. I use fine steel wool and it works well.

Surefire G2 (200lm LED).

New to the forum and I totally agree with you, although I am brand new to rifles, I want a AK but in the style you have made this. What does this baby run? I am looking to get something in the style of these tactical ak before anything bad happens. Trying to educate myself fast :/

Rifle+conversion+mods= about $1100.
Scope, I think it was little under $400 (new one - over $500)
That was then, now people are playing game of hoarding & overpaying, so things might be a bit harder/expensive.

Please people.... Stop quoting all the pics in the post just to ask a question.
With Hogue hand-guard being the most.......

It's Russian 24mm with expansion chamber, description of it is in the quoted post and place where I bough it from is on the first page of the thread.

find it funny how at the bottom of your post, it very clearly states what muzzle brake it is and has link.... some people just don't want to read and want answers handed to them.

Updated mine, yet again, but still not finished. The Burris was too unreliable on the AK so I got the TWS dogleg rail and Aimpoint Micro T-1. I could have put it on a microdot mount, but I did not like that if I wanted to remove the Burris, I had to use tools. After I get the quick release lever, I can simply pull off the Aimpoint, even though there is absolut co-witness with this setup. I also went with the dogleg rail to increase the distance between the front and rear sight, making it more accurate and boy is it. Got a charging handle bolt on lever and Surfire SR07 on the way and still need to get the Ultimak lower and upper rails, fixed stock, and AMD-65 Tech muzzle brake. Also gonna try out their recoil buffer.

Dude, it's a slant brake. Supposed to be at an angle to stop the natural high and right muzzle rise from an AK.

Ordered a Bushnell TRS today. Waiting on a FSC47. LDI CQBAL for my PVS 14 and swapping the G2/Vtac for either a Fury/Haley Strategic or Scout/KM2 eventually.
