Default SHOT Show Deals/Coupons/Sales?

Hey all,

First time heading to SHOT this year as a dealer. Have a few items I'm looking to order for the "shop" but have heard SHOT sometimes offers deals. Are there deals from distributors on actual firearm purchases or is it more accessories and stuff? If I can add some margin I am ok making my customers hang tight a bit, but if there won't be any actual firearm deals I can order now. Figured someone/some folks here might have some insight from prior visits to the big show.

Thanks!

"As a dealer"? Does that mean you are a vendor getting a booth? Or, you're just going to shop? Yes, sometimes you can get deals on firearms you order during SHOT or right after. It really depends on the vendor. After last year, I won't even hazard to guess what vendors will be there this year or what they might offer. Many vendors pulled out last year even after paying for their booths. I know several long time vendors who permanently pulled out of SHOT in the last few years. I always loved visiting the Perazzi booth. In 2019, I bought a beat to hell MX12 and ended up taking it to Perazzi USA to find out more about it and have it serviced. While there I told Al, the president or head of Perazzi USA, that I always visited his booth to dream about what I could never afford to own and, he told me that 2019 was their last year. They, like others, have pulled out due to the rising costs of the show and the changing market. ALL trade shows are on their way out due to the internet. Anyway, have fun and, don't forget about the Antique Arms Show at Westgate.

I am just a local gun dealer going to see what there is to see. Not renting a booth. I have not been in this capacity before. In the past I went as an employee of another accessory company so I never paid attention to if there were any discounts offered on firearms because it didn't apply to me. Also I didn't pay attention to the distributor booths because I wasn't a buyer, so I really have no idea what to expect.

Sad to hear about people backing out of the show. I really like going but of course that doesn't necessarily put any money in their pockets, so I understand. This will be my first time going since 2015. I hope it survives until I'm retired at least!

IRCC, RSR always had some sort of deal if you ordered at the show. I know many smaller manufacturers would offer SHOT show prices during the show and some would continue the deals for a week or two after the show. Way back, many exhibitors would sell their display items (firearms) after the show so they wouldn't have to ship them back. I believe that stopped when the show started cracking down on retail sales of other items during the show without charging NV sales tax. You might find some smaller manufacturers who would be willing to meet after the show and sell you their display models at another location??????

ahhh RSR, tried to get in there a couple times but they wouldn't open me up for lack of a brick and mortar. Same with Kroll.

Ill be going again this year, as in years past, Ill start a thread for the Geissele coupon codes. It'll probably start the week after the show, it'll be on a first come first served basis. Thread will go live on or about the 23rd....as long as Geissele does the codes this year.

I drive out when I go to Shot

Deals are great if you want AR500 targets and you buy the floor models.

MGM and others would rather sell you their displays than drive them home.

Ask manufacturers if they have any kind of dealer employee discount programs. That’s where you can save money. A lot of them have them so you can get a personally owned item so you can talk it up to customers. I got many guns, optics and accessories at unbelievably low prices. Some limit you to one item a year. Have fun and wear good shoes!

Great code!

If I didn't already have a great personalized license plate, I'd order that.

Almost all distributor have specials for orders placed at SHOT.

Davidson’s, Lipseys, RSR, Sports South, …

If you let home based, RSR will do an accessory only account. Both Davidson’s, Lipseys, and Sports South will ship guns to home based FFLs.
