So I setup to buy a stock from him with an agreed price and location close to him and even posted an Ill take it on the add and then he messaged me as i was on my way that he sold it on ebay for way more. Regardless, to my understanding this goes against community guidelines so I left him a review at which point the guy begins to text me all my personal information and makes things racial with me for being Punjabi/ Sikh. Please be careful dealing with this person.

Beware of Scammer using this WTB forum

I posted a WTB for TSX Barnes 85gr .243 bullets a couple of weeks ago and was contacted by "Mark Larry" via email "markjlarry9@gmail.com" offering to sell me these bullets and sent a picture of them. He had me send the money via Venmo to Michelle Nini using account @Michlyn. Turns out to be a scam and I will never see the bullets. I should have not paid right away etc but I was distracted by other work and figured it out too late so the money is gone but I figured to warn other Calgun folks.

SO BEWARE and more cautious than I..

A lot of scammer accounts taking extra steps to create fake post, reviews and more “thought” out messages to create legitimacy. Probably not a new tactic in the forums, but for those who are in hurry to seal a deal, be careful. These people are not going to sell you anything, but take your money. Scammer responded to my WTB ad for literally a 30$ maglatch for my KRISS Vector under a new account "leomatta33". Don't trust this idiot, he's a little slow so you'll probably sniff his BS out from a mile away, or wherever he decides to tell you he's located (it'll be everywhere but where you are). I searched his number 219-767-6043 online for info and found someone had posted about him on a Kawasaki forum for a set of dirt bike wheels. He's ruthless and no job seems too small for this guy. Anyways, probably the last time I post a WTB ad considering the only offers I get are from scammers! Lol

Beware of Whale4303. This person seems to be contacting lots of WTB listings, used the phone number 408-713-5886. They sent pictures that were harvested off another forum, and insist on zelle or paypal friends and family payment.

Purchased an Eotech optic from seller. Tracking number he sent was never active. Claimed that USPS told him they lost the optic. Seller promised refund in a week. Did not refund. Then seller claimed it would be another week for the refund. Again, did not, and did not respond to texts or phone call. I have the text messages between the two of us.

About a month ago, ktroyy, almost scammed me out of $400 for an SRO. He responded to my Wtb ad and said he had a lightly used one and he would sell it to me for $400. Even sent me a link that has 6 detailed pictures of the SRO.

We went back and forth via PM, and I questioned him on having little posts and no feedback. He replied with “I’ve done good business here” a wound up sending me a text with weird verbiage and pressuring me for payment via Venmo.

I have been scammed (on another forum) before, so I am rather cautious these days. So I asked him to send me a picture of the SRO, a picture of his ID (with sensitive info blacked out) and a paper with his CALGUNS name written down.

He agreed and told me he would send it to me that night when he got home.

He never sent it to me that night.

So, the next day I sent him a couple of messages and he ignored all of them.

Glad I dodged that bullet.

This guy is the scammer mentioned above. I had experience that sketched me out but I thought he’s got feed back but I’m just not comfortable. After I saw the above post I looked at his account and his feedback is a joke and every account that’s left him feedback or he’s left feedback for are his scammer accounts. All joined the same month and all the accounts have left feedback for each other. One of them already has a scammer review along with this one.

How did you vet him? I can't find his profile. Was he an active member? Did he have any iTrader ratings? Were the pictures easily found via google?

I swear 9/10 times messages received from a WTB listing is going to be some brand new account with no history. It sucks, but you have to perform your due diligence.

Personally I am glad you took the extra steps to protect yourself. Often times people are too quick to purchase a "steal of a deal" only to find out they got scammed.

This dude is 100% a scammer!! He replied to my WTB for a Trijicon SRO. I immediately knew he was a scammer just based on the grammer and language used. Anyways, I decided to test him and asked him to send me a picture of the SRO next to his ID, our private message conversation and a paper with his Calguns name on it....and this is what he sent me. haha it made for a good laugh this morning.

You are hilarious. I offered less, which has happened on every single deal I’ve ever conducted on here as a buyer and seller. We are all prepared to haggle. I then responded saying I was ready to pay your asking price and got a not available this weekend. No other details, no locked in deal no anything. Then you raised the price and I wasn’t willing to pay your increased rate. You were pissy. Keep trying to sell that for your inflated rate. It’s ridiculous.

Scammed by wartad, using venmo name under @CJThompson, Bradley Schuetz, and then after disputing via venmo the name shows Ryan. He had feedback on calguns and had decided it would be fine to venmo. I will be sticking to PayPal from now on. Hope to help people in the future.

Feedback looks super sketch. That would have been a red flag for me.
