What’s weird and how I found out it was a lie was he lied to somebody, told the other interested person his name is Sam and he said his name was devin after I wired him the money. I told my bank he is a seller on calguns and it is a retailer 3rd party so money is on its way!!

Yes...behindenemyline came on here and hit this place hard. I called him out on his 2nd day and notified a moderator. They combined his 10 or 12 diff sale posts but people kept on buying stuff even after other Calgunners started calling him out. If it's too good to be true, then it's too good to be true.

User literally registered within the hour and has 0 posts.

Obviously this is similar to Craigslist where people troll for info.

I've had several "0 iTrader" members make firm " lower than asking" offers to buy, and then flake on their offer! Not illegal, but frustrating.. I've been reluctant to give them negative feedback... not worth a p.ssing contest but frustrating for sure.

Yea, that's part of the business. I've flaked before as being flaked on. But you can leave a neutral feedback i think, but a negative feedback over something you have not lost money, time, or product on is against the rules?
Unless you were in terms to meet and you go to ffl and buyer doesn't show up, then I think you can leave negative feedback.

The user joined in May. Since then, the user has made NO posts. Also, NO other user has visited this buyer's profile page. Looks like I am their first contact on PM.

Here's one input.... If a scammer, I expect he will try to get all your contact info for later use... we can only guess what that is for?? ... suggest divulge nothing but info about your sale item. See what happens.. if he wants to buy it, then an in person meeting might pan out, might not... ?? Good luck!!

Ronald. Yes, could be a set-up for future spear-phishing.

The member explained he couldn't figure out how to reply within my for sale thread so sent me a pm. And he was asking for photos of the gun.

I can't reply to that user by PM because their PM box is full.

When I try to PM him, I get and error message:

"___________ has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space."

His wtb ad does seem odd. He had a wtb trijicon ad up and found within the same day he posted by another member who seems to have no profile. These scammers are getting smart and acting to be a member by spending time in off topic before acting. Or maybe he got scammed and wanted a way to get money back? Just my speculation.

Sadly, it has happened before. People have thrown their accounts away for a small need of cash. I have been creeping on here for years so I've got an idea of how these forums work.

His last reply to me was at 5:32pm on Saturday 1/9/21. I confronted him about the light being fake at 12:11am on Sunday 1/10/21 and then a few more messages throughout the day with the last being at 3:51pm.

I was cordial and just offered to return the light for my money back but no dice.

This scammer crap is getting waaaaaaaay out of hand. I'm thankful I've only been burned for $30. Maybe it's time Kes the site owner started charging folks $25 a year to be a member here. Might just weed some of the riff-raff out...
