Please be wary of "nowski", he sent me a PM regarding an Eotech is friend "Brian" had for sale. Googled the email address he gave me (brianstodart00xx@gmail.com) and theres multiple posts on other forums about him being a scammer.

I would not want to argue that something that easy is "permanent" unless they are at least glued in place.

Still easy enough to fix, but shows some effort to meet the undefined requirement.

I've been on CalGuns for a few years now, done a few deals and never had an issue. Three days ago, I put up my second WTB posting and got two problems in one day from accounts created very recently. I have outlined below.

1. User: behumblefox229
Sent me the PM indicating they have a private seller that has the item I am looking for and to email them directly. The email address was markcoleen@rocketmail.com, a know problem here.

2. User: stoneadams
Sent me a PM with a phone number (510 322 6182) to message claiming they had the item. I began texting and it became clear that they were sending me pictures form an old ad online, see link below, that was from years ago and sold. Also, details about the item and the sale were not making sense and the story got more elaborate trying to explain the discrepancies. When I asked for more recent pics things went downhill, fast. I blocked the number. I have screen shots of the conversation if a Mod needs to see them.

So I put out a WTB ad for a g19 lpk and this guy, or girl, messages me back with his phone number. I texted the guy and asked him to send a few photos of it. He send me a photo that I've seen on an IG page before. So I asked him to send one with a different angle, but he sends me the same picture just zoomed in. So I ask for another photo, and he sends me a picture of a completely different lpk with a blue trigger. He is always asking me to send the money, send the money. He is always dodging my questions and does not answer my phone calls. The zelle he tells me to send the money to is a womans name. Also tells me that I'm not a serious buyer. It's because he sends me different photos everytime.

* i remember him. 100% scammer. Sends me to text him at that # for an ak. He sends me a complete not-CA-legal pic, and I ask him if he knows he is on CA forum. He says this AK(folding stock, short barrel, pistol grip, dong, suppressor) is legal in all 50 states.

Of course not! I kept on playing with him. I asked him where he was shipping from and he said Ohio. So I said I'm moving to ohio maybe we could meet in person. Then he said he lives in New York! How is this guy not banned yet!?!

I suggest removing it except for CG friends.

That way, there will be a PM record to report using the red triangle in the upper right.

I WAS JUST SCAMMED AND I COMPLETELY FELL FOR IT!! I posted in WTB seeking a PF9SS frame and received a message from this guy stating he has a friend that can help you. I emailed the guy, Zelled him $120 and he replied will ship in the morning. Haven't heard back from him in 2 days and decided to email him this morning to follow up. To my surprise, the Gmail account doesn't exist anymore. Any advise from my fellow Calgunners? Please PM me any advise.

Never use Zelle. Only Paypal GS... that's the only way to protect yourself. You won't be able to get your money back unfortunately using zelle...

If you do not get a phone and name and at least a location then you should be scammed. With that info you can use fast people search to verify people. If I only get an email address i just go elsewhere.

Try to edit it yourself or add a new one if possible. Probably can't.

In the upper right of a bad post or p.m. is the red triangle. Tap on it or click it and then state what is going on and the mods will review it.

The post where the member sends you over to a friend and his email address is a scam.

This has been going on here lately so they will recognize it.

Several of them just return with a new user name so we have to keep an eye out for this.

I think the WTB ads might be the biggest issue... I'm relatively new here, and listed a WTB for a .308 upper... I got a couple of suspicious responses very similar to the ones above ("a friend can help... email so and so at gmail," etc.). Another guy PM'd me with what was a too-good-to-be-true deal (KAC SR25 upper for $650, and insisting I pay a female's gmail account via Zelle. Thing is, the guy has one feedback (like me at the moment), and posted a few replies here and there.
