I include the following in every For Sale post I make, and I stick to it. It has saved me no end of aggravation. The only exception I made was for a young Marine out of Pendleton (I’m an old one).
IF YOU HAVE ZERO iTRADER EXPERIENCE OR A FEEDBACK SCORE OF LESS THAN 100% YOUR RESPONSE WILL BE IGNORED. |

Guys, everyone creating a WTB post gets contacted by this scammer. I have been contacted twice already and he offered to ship an off roster gun to my FFL and my FFL told me that is illegal. That's when I realized something is not right.

Not sure if this is the place to report an Armslist scammer, but better to put it out there than to get scammed.
Name: Larry Morales Phone: (414) 409-6483 Email: morallarry822@gmail.com PayPal Email (“Family/friends only”): nus1126@aol.com Supposed FFL Email: theaermory@protonmail.com Posted a GP100 in OC Ca on armslist, ffl to ffl transfer. Didn’t seem suspicious due to social distancing. Asked for my FFLs email so his can get in touch with them. Started to text me from the “414” area code (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). Requested to be paid PayPal, cashapp or zelle. Then requested my full name and address because he needs it for the invoice (suspicious). Told him I’d call my FFL for confirmation. He then told me to check my email from his FFL (The Armory, Fresno, CA). The email it was sent from, spelled “aermory” and didn’t match their email. Called them up, and like most FFLs, they’re tied up and not doing transfers. Already flagged ad on armslist. Stay safe out there! I would assume that this thread is only for reporting issues with other Calgun members. As far as Armslist goes... well it's Armslist. It's occupied by scammers all the time. Don't get me wrong I have had some good experience buying and selling there but it's a little more risk than Calguns. You just have to know what to look for in the posting. What I do is always google search pictures or the description right from the posting. Most of the time the scammers will take pictures and the description right of the internet from another web site. Then they will post it at a price you can't refuse. For example the Ruger GP 100 that you were interested in purchasing was actually for sale on Gun Broker from a Seller in Indiana. Same picture, Same description word for word. Copy and paste. Most the time these scammers don't even know much about firearms to begin with. I flag a post just about every time I log on to armslist. |

That "Richard Boyer" is trying to get me right now. Thankfully Zelle caught his email address before I sent money.
The wording on his emails seemed a little off but I let my excitement of getting the parts for my Benelli M4 get the better of me. He was using Johnxxx on SnipersHide this morning but apparently they caught him and he got banned. In addition to theboydrichard153@gmail.com I was emailing him on, he asked me to send payment to archendob@gmail.com *Edit- he replied and gave me a new email address to send money to- haryounge94@yahoo.com Here is a photo of the license he sent me as proof of identity. It's clearly photoshopped. ![]() **Edit- He's on this forum RIGHT NOW (4/28/20) as Johnxxx. Last edited by BurtonRider; 04-28-2020 at 6:58 AM.. |

Johnxxx = Garyxxx
On 04/01/20 I received a response to a WTB ad I posted from user Garyxxx telling me to email a richardboyd025@gmail.com in Chicago who had what I was looking for. I never followed through because the item I was looking for (handgun frame) needs to be transferred through an FFL face to face. I, also, received a similar response from user vbrass01 on 03/22/20 concerning the same ad as above, telling me to contact a Donald at donaldmcginty816@gmail.com up in the SF Bay Area who had what I was looking for. Being that he was in CA I emailed him informing him if he was ever in southern CA I would purchase the handgun frame from him. We exchanged several emails and he sent me pictures, which seemed legit. In one of my final emails I offered him twice his asking price if he would make the drive down here to do the transfer at a local FFL. He replied that he could ship the frame directly to me via FedEx ground because “in these hard times, who would be checking packages”. At this point, it smelled very fishy and I was out. |

I am looking for a hard to find optic and was contacted by two people about reaching out to this individual: Rob @ robmas.n@gmail.com
Both people were new to Calguns and one was kinda odd and got banned almost immediately. I reached out to this Rob guy and nothing super weird, just short and sweet messages. Does anyone know this Rob Mason guy? Wanted to check before I sent several hundred dollars via Paypal. Note: on paypal it was converting dollars to euros which I thought was odd. Says the optic will ship from socal. There was no request to send it as a gift which is good because that should enable paypal protection right? Am I being paranoid? Is this Rob Mason guy well known on the forums/industry? |

While both "Rob" and the member here have been very responsive, that doesn't mean anything. I am highly suspect of the member here: Davies He was the second person to say I should contact this Rob guy. The first person was a brand new member with only 1 post and got banned. Davies is also a brand new member with only 10 posts and they're both telling me to buy from this "Rob" guy. So beware of Davies. |

Davies just sent me a nasty PM cussing me out of defamation, but looks like I was right to be suspect. And hey if I'm wrong, I'll own that and retract what I wrote, but he doesn't seem willing to have a legit talk to shed light on this. But he's definitely watching this. The whole message from him and the other guy fit the same format of messages that other members here and on other forums have received. Last edited by gecko82; 05-14-2020 at 12:12 PM.. |

Just confirmed the user here Davies is complicit in the scam. He sent me screen shots of a supposed conversation on the longrangehunting forum between him and another member - to show that "Rob" was trustworthy.
Well I got on that forum and spoke with the other party in that screen shot and he just confirmed it was fabricated: "I can say with certainty, I never took part in that conversation. a fabrication at best." And I'm happy to show proof of this if requested. Also the dates were incorrect and photoshopped, along with the rifle that Davies sent me a picture of that he supposedly bought from "Rob". And it wasn't even a good photoshop...pretty pathetic attempt as well. Mods/Admin feel free to read my PMs with Davies and you'll see all this stuff. I'll happily hand over the emails and photos he sent as well. Davies is a scammer. here's the email he used: ricdavis7768@gmail.com Please ban this punk. |

He (xxxdoniycori) responded to my g26 WTB post very very adamant to sell a gen 5 for 600. When it's too good to be true, it just rang an alarm bell for me. Knew that was pretty sketch.

I know this doesnt pertain to this forum, but I feel it is my duty to raise a flag about Armslist. I found a great priced G19 there and the dude almost got me. He emailed from an account called Rodney Freeman (freemanslug@aol.com), but after asking for a photo of his ID, he provided not one but two with a name of Robert Lee Colwell. I have asked for a photo of serial number on the frame and he had it. Everything sounded pretty legit and I was logged on to paypal to send him the funds when I began to have a bad feeling about this. The names he has been using were not matching, which was the 1st red flag I remember someone here mentioning. I have decided to do some digging and ended up finding this exact glock on an active auction on gunbroker from a FFL in a different state. The images on that auction were the same exact images that he used on armslist. This guy operates from this number: 734-400-4160. Be safe out there and don't get scammed.

Hello all,
I'm relatively new to this form. I've purchased several handguns via Calguns and have never had an issue (knock on wood). I've been reading the "Buyer/Seller beware" section and wanted to add my "two cents." I'm confident in saying we are all trusting one another to act in "good faith" in performing the conditions of the specific transaction one may be a party to. Probably in most cases things work out as expected. However, there are those cases where issues arise as noted in this specific thread. e.g. seller fails to provide items(s) as agreed and/or buyer falls to submit full payment etc.. or whatever the case may be. So, how do we protect ourselves moving forward from a potential breach of an agreement that we might not see coming? Well, I'm only going to provide a list of things for you to follow-up on and/or research if you're willing to do the work. I'm not going to give any legal advice. This information is to help you become more informed about what you can do to ensure that your interests are protected and that you have independent and legal forum (not calguns) to seek relief in the event you believe a party has breached an enforceable agreement. Here's the info: 1. California Statute of Frauds: California Civil Code section 1624 2. Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (which has been adopted by California) 3. Small Claims Court a. Can sue for damages up to $10K b. No lawyers allowed during the court hearing. Why sue in small claims? Well if you want that specific item or dollar amount that was promised to you, and you're not in breach of any contract terms, you can use the legal process to obtain what you bargained for. NOTE: I'm not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and the information I've provided is for informational/educational purposes only and in no way creates or establishes a lawyer/client relationship. |

New scammer, ben2000000 Junior Member, goes by Jason, don't know if it is his actual name
Uses a Google Voice number 205 730 6545, I've noticed this is out of state Saw my WTB, and PM'ed me that he got what I've been looking for and asked me to contact him via a given number, after few text, I've noticed it was not very responsive, and then showed me exactly what I wanted and started pushing for a transaction, I've asked where he was located and gave me somewhere like 6 hours from the Bay Area I've responded that I was not going to drive 6 hours, so he agreed to meet in the Bay Area if he wanted to make the transaction, he asked why not now As I was busy, told him to meet few days after, day came, the FFL was closed, so I've found another that was open nearby, and contacted him and no response, then he responded asking for transfer payment first before to meet I responded to him that was a waste of time, blocked him and erased the text Watch out guys |
