I've only found one place selling the bayonet kit for a decent price.

So you cut the pistol grips in half and sandwiched a piece of plastic in between, then reattached it with four screws (and maybe epoxy?) Simple, efficient.... I love it! I'm going to try that.

Are those home-made grips? I really want to go with detachable mags on mine but I HATE how the M-Man Grips look. Those aint too bad though.

Those grips were machined on my cnc machine. The new design does not have the screws and looks much better. I am sorry but I am not selling them it costs a lot to make them $90 for the material and 20 hours to machine on my machine. If you do a search you should be able to find the directions on how to make your own. After doing a quick search I came up with this one.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ght=monsterman

Just take your time and you will be proud of your new grip.

Mark

Norinco NHM91 with 100rd drum. Going to put a K-Var stockset on it when I get a little free time, triggergroup and piston have already been replaced.

Romanian SAR-1 with 30rd mag

Got a Norinco NHM91 National Match with a milled receiver that I am working on right now, should be finished in a couple weeks.

Nice, the STG counts just as much as a WASR. I've been looking for one of those, there's just something I like about the front sight on the gas block

Here's my WASR-10 with Russian furniture I found on E-Bay & then re-finished with a "cherry/walnut" stain:

This is my Henderson Defense AK-101 w/ safety latch I modded to hold bolt open during cease-fires. It also has a CAA hanguard set w/ CAA Swivel-POD foregrip mounted here:

AND, the same carbine with the outstanding TangoDown/AMD QD BattleGrip mounted here:

OUCH!!! I just hate to see a perfectly good AK permanately neutered like that. Poor, poor gas block...*sigh* Nice looking guns, however. By the way: how do you shoot the one w/ it's nuts cut off without a trigger?

(I hate to tell you this now, but there is a very simple way to make the underfolder stock fixed & then be able to "re-convert" it back for out-of-state use in about 20 seconds!)

Default AMD-63

My Hungarian AMD-63. Finished it two weeks ago. The receiver is a "u-weld" I bought 5 years ago on eBay. I bought the parts set from Centerfire Systems or Flordia Gunworks (?) about 5 years ago as well. It is a screw build (and yes I've read the threads here & elsewhere about screws vs rivets).

Laminated stock is from a thumbhole Maadi. I simply cut the PG off & smoothed things down! Looks like it was built as a non-thumbhole. I shaped the cutoff PG into a "standard" grip but I haven't installed it for some reason. It will go on the front as I like a more egronomic grip as the usual AK grip I find to be uncomfortable.

I took it out to 5 Dogs Range two Mondays and it shoots great but the mag would sometimes bind the bolt. It had an extraneous piece of sheetmetal that I have ground off. The mag also wobbles but I haven't found a way to remedy that yet. I need a 10/20 mag (30 round mag is hard to insert due to the front grip) but I haven't heard from the Calgunner that has a couple he is willing to trade.

I also need a new safety (on order from Northridge Inc.). As you can see the one I have is broken (I tried to bend it a little & it snapped ). It still works but looks ugly.

I just followed the instructions on Ironwood Designs website. It was red RIT dye mixed with alcohol that was soaked into the wood and then a hard clear coat over that. The wood glows. It is very neat to look at in person. The picture makes it look a little brighter than it really is. I did a write up on how I did it a while back. If you search for it you might find it.

Thats a really nice Saiga12, is that the stock forend with picatinny rails mounted onto it, or is that a new forend with rails?

I've always gone to Rick, username rick-16 on the AK forums. He's done a couple of fake cans for me and I've been very please with each one. His prices are also very reasonable compared to DPH and other vendors. I've had a couple of PBS fake cans done in the past, but decided to go with something simple with this one. I'm happy with it. Thanks for the compliments. Here's a link to where you could find Rick: http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47403. Hope it helps. Let me know if you can't get a hold of him via PM.

I forget now who I sent it to, but I could find the receipt and get back to you. Yes, I sent the final build. I opted out of having the bolt chromed, though for obvious headspacing reasons. I did sandblast the bolt to give it a matt chrom look, though. Thanks for the compliments!

That's the original forend. The vents and rails were installed by me. Also note the upper handguard. That upper HG was a custom HG made by a gentleman on the S12 forum. It really helps prevent burns from the barrel after a long shooting session. Thanks for the compliments!

I really like your HG, its nice to see that you dont have to pay $$$$ just to have a custom looking rail. thanks for the info!

Wow marxdspot, nice Kalashnikov collection. Also, thank you for the advice and parts to get my Romanian Krinkov going. And finally, thanks for inspiring me to add an AMD-65 to my collection. Because of this:

That's one of the joys of being able to build on your own...the looks and functions of your rifle is only limited to your imagination and desire.

You're very welcome, 69mach1. Let me know if I could be of further assistance. Best of luck with your projects!
