Default N Idaho expats...call to action.

Attention N Idaho expats.
Please vote tomorrow, 3/14/23. Local school districts are asking for supplemental levies again. This is an additional assessment on your property taxes. I'm watching the livestream from CDA school board meeting regarding Trans boys in girls restrooms. My position is hell to the no on any more money . Supplemental levies are being voted on for CDA, Post Falls, and Lakeland school districts. Get out there and vote your conscience.

https://www.youtube.com/live/sJtV9qN-e8M?feature=share
Parents going off on school board livestream.

IIRC Kuna also has a vote on school bonds today that few people knew about. I don't live in Kuna, but the local radio was trying to inform people that were unaware.

Apparently, when there is very low voter turnout these school issues go the way the schools want. Might be why no one knows about them.

This is truth.

We went to dinner with friends a few days ago and we all thought this only involved CDA voters. Not true. Heading over to the polls this morning.

Apparently, 40 out of 44 counties have some sort of a school levy election today. From what I could tell, Boise and Nampa along with Kuna have elections today. The fund list is in the attachment.

I don’t see anything between CDA and boundary county. Is there nothing in Bonner county?

I?ve seen the signs but didn?t get any notice for voting. Does that mean it doesn?t apply or do I need to take action?

It says they are having voting in 40 out of 44 counties today. Here is a link to the counties that are having voting today. I just got back from voting in Nampa. Just the one question about school bonds.

If you live in one of the school districts listed you are eligible to vote at your polling location. From what I could see in the Treasure Valley it is the school districts of Boise, Nampa and Kuna. Less to do with the actual county. Ada county has several school districts.

To clarify, Boise County has an election, but not the city of Boise. Kuna is the only Ada County election this March 14.

So for the N ID folks, as said earlier if you're in CDA or PF you probably need to vote.

Go to https://www.kcgov.us/321/Polling-Place-Look-Up and punch in your address. It'll give you your polling location as well as the sample ballot. So if you see a sample ballot then you can be sure you need to vote.

I checked with the polling place and they said no mailers go out for these.

You are correct.

Wife and I live in what they call "Kuna", but we're out of the school district's voting boundary by about 25 feet in Canyon county. If we had kids in school, they'd go to Kuna schools.

I'm certain of this as wife is the voting judge in two city of Kuna districts today.

Kuna's bond request also failed.

Bonner, CDA, Lakeland all denied. Districts have until 3/27 to pass resolutions to get a May ballot date. Rest assured, they will take the "in perpetuity" clauses of the denied resolution out,.and insert "two years" like the current ballot measure that expires this school year, to make it more palatable to voters. Post Falls resolution passed with 61% of the voters approving it. I believe it passed because a large number of new residents weren't aware, and the pro-levy effort vastly blanketed the no-levy efforts in number and reach. The pro-levy side had all the usual suspects pushing it. Teachers, admins, LEA'S, nurses, etc. And yeah, if your going to fire off-the-cuff remarks about politics up here, at least know WTF you're talking about. It's always the bitter ones firing off remarks to those of us who took the risk and moved away from the comfortable, known problems of CA, and made a new life away, often far from family and friends. Bitter because they lack the fortitude to head out into the unknown.

I wrote that f*** stick a nasty email letting him know my thoughts about his lazy approach.

With the exception of Mr. Quimby, the rest need to hit the road this year when their term is up but Mr. Jones needs to resign.

From the Lakeland School District Board of Trustees Mission statement, the first damn line is "We hear the voice of our constituents and represent their views of our district".

Says here none of this was prompted by teachers or adults. Completely student organized

Put May 16th on your calendar gentlemen.

I grabbed one of the many ?vote yes? signs on 95 and brought it to Fernan range on Wednesday to break in my new TX compact.

The last time students held a peaceful walkout and rally of this magnitude was in response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in 2018, said LCHS Principal Deanne Clifford.

"We are following the same plan we did in 2018 because students came to me and said, 'Hey, we want to do a walkout. Are we going to get in trouble?' I said, 'Of course not,'" she said
.

Without any penalties pretty soon they will be walking out for anything and everything, wonder if she will be proud then.

Spoiled brat! He should try and explain to me why I should contribute anything to his education which he apparently does not value enough to stay in class! If he does not want to attend his classes, let him drop out.

Principal Deanne Clifford please explain to me how or in what manner a walkout of LCHS students in response to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in 2018 could or did accomplish anything of value. Instead of "Of course not" I would have said "only if you value the instruction you will be missing."

Not to steer the thread off course but if you want more signs like that I have a pile of them in my shop, hundreds actually. Mostly Realtor signs but they all make great target backs.
