Default Gauging interest in Finnish Target Rifles such as M27/66

Curious what kind of interest there is in rare Finnish Target Rifles such as M27/66, M28/57, and M39/57 and current price point? Reason I ask is I have a M27/66 coming in, and M39/57 that I imported recently. I am able to get a couple more, but they are not cheap ($3k-$4k). However if the interest is there I will get them.

M39/57 has the flame stock and I will have in hand this week. Rear sight was reinstalled by a current FDF armourer before it left. I am debating whether to keep or sell because I just bought a legit M39 SOV with PE Scope, with Army documentation and was able to cross reference online to Army database.

The others are M27/66. The one I will have in a couple months and I can add a couple more if the interest is there.

What is the difference between the 28/66 and the 28/76?

27/66 and 28/76 a lot.

There were only 300 27/66 made.

The 27/66 has float rails welded on
Barrel is heavier
Bolt has the ring at the back
Most 27/66 are upgraded with TKIV 85 trigger

There are only few 27/66 left in original configuration. They are serial numbered between 001-321 IIRC with some being skipped. The barrel is numbered on the side. These are documented in the Finnish Mosin 1917-2017 book.

The upgraded 27/66 they changed the number and put it on top, added the model number to the top, put a buffer plate on the magazine, and some other tweaks in addition to the TKIV85 trigger.

Many more 28/76 were made with estimates being from 1k and up. Many of the 28/76 were imported. Very few 27/66 have been imported.

These look cool.

Are the models you've listed 53R or 54R?

I've got a left-hand 28/76 somewhere. I've never shot it. Your post might prompt me to dig it out of storage, haha!!

The original M27/66, 28/57, and 39/57 are 53R.

I believe the upgraded 27/66 that is marked D166 is 54R. The upgrades had to have been done in the mid 1980s since the TKIV-85 trigger wasn't in use til the.

Always wanted to add one of the Finnish precision rifles to my Mosin collection.
But that price point is steep. Looks like I missed my chance

7.62x53R barrel is .308. Everyone says using regular 54R isn't an issue but you won't get the best accuracy.

The 28/76 are still cheap. One just sold for $945.

The 27/66 were never available and never cheap. 10 years ago Karl Heinz Wrobel sold one of his on gunboards for $4k and it cost the buyer $1200 to import it.

That one I bought and I am keeping, at least for now. I'm told the last one that sold here and was legit sold for $6500. There were less SOV made than 39/43, but most SOV are fake. I am told this will be the 4th documented legit SOV in America.

If a friend of mine wasn't already bidding on the 28/76 I would have gone to $1,100 on it and that still would have been a good deal. 27/66 are impossible to find anywhere in the world near $1k.

The 27/66 there were only 300 made. Most were upgraded and have a $500 trigger in them, same trigger that is in the TKIV85. There are maybe 10 rifles in the U.S. The few occasions one has sold the price has been $4k+.

The 28/76 is the entry level Finnish target rifle. Couple thousand made. Probably half of them are already in the U.S. On average they sell for $1200.

Are the TKIV85 triggers available separately?

Very rarely. I have sold 2 of them on eBay. One went just under $500 and the other just over $500. They won't fit in 28/76 without changing the magazine
