Default Titegroup

Hello,

I have worked up a load for 9mm using unique. I wanted to try to use titegroup too. I use an rmr 115 grain fmj and cci 500 with mixed brass. I loaded up to 4.5 grains with tightgroup. Oal at 1.145". It seems to feed in my Glock and shield just fine. 4.3 grains seemed to cycle and shoot the best. Of course my chronograph would not work on my last range trip, so I have no chrono data. Does 4.3 grains of titegroup at 1.145" with a 115 sound right? I know this is a narrow charge weight window powder. Thanks for the help

I’m using 4.2grns for 125’s. 3.2grns for 147’s, I haven’t loaded 115’s in a while.
Both make above power factor for IDPA... Search Brian Enos forum for good info.

Yes. I am well between min and max. max is 4.8 per Hodgdons site. I am more curious if those using titegroup have found loads similar to this.

4.4g under a cast Lee 356-120-TC powder coated gets me a nice pleasant 1200 fps out of a 5" Beretta 92fs. The bullets were seated 0.203". Deeper seating gave noticeably higher velocities (and I would assume pressures) because on another outing I averaged 1150 fps with only 4.0g Titegroup with a 0.231" seating depth.

Thank you that was the sort of information I was looking for. What do you mean .203"? Is that the amount of bullet seated in the case? What was your COAL?

Yes, that's the important dimension when it comes to peak pressure and eventual muzzle velocity. It takes out the profile of the bullet. If you want the COL, simply add (bullet length) + (case length) - (seat depth)

With the 356-120-TC the COL is 1.115"

Thanks you for the tip, I'll try 4.3 gr. after finished my existing batch (2K+ rds). Currently I am using 4.6gr with 115 gr jacket bullet
