Default Ammo Bros Cerritos

So me and another CG member walk in at 10:10 a.m. (10 minutes after store opening), maybe 1 customer.

We go there to do PPT.

We get told no PPT until 12 pm.

Seriously WTF. Is this new Ammo Bros policy?

Last time I went to the Cerritos one they didn’t want to do a ppt 30 minutes before closing. With no other customers in the store. They said call next time to make sure we can do it. Never had any issues at any other store. I wonder if it’s the management at that particular store.

It could be this particular store. I did Ammo Bros ontario PPT with 20mins left, and went past closing time and none of their employees seemed annoyed or angry about it. Had good experience from Santa Ana and Ontario locations, except Ontario asking me to come back for signature after pickup, but it was resolved by e-mail.

That is not our policy. Our policy is to serve every customer with any need at any time. The only time we would ask for a call/appointment is if it is a multi-gun PPT that would take us scheduling an extra employee.

I will send this information to the proper person to speak to the store.

Yea, it was for 1 firearm. The employee told us to go to Turners in Norwalk for PPT.

Want to support LGSs yet won't patron one run with lack of customer service and professional etiquette. I've been to both the Cerritos and Santa Ana store. Each time I dealt with more hassle than each situation was worth. I'm not expecting them to all be experts in all the nuances of CA gun laws, yet both stores had made stuff up when they lacked knowledge (or the simple ability to read PC as written).

When COVID19 hit, went to Cerritos for a PPT by buyers request, were the first ones in and got booted out even before they unlocked the exit doors cuz they "weren't doing PPTs that day". I was shocked as hell at how nice the manager at Turner's Norwalk was, and he was dealing with folk on a 6-hour waiting list. Won't shop or do business at AB ever again.

I never liked Ammo Bros Cerritos. Gave me a hard time when trying to ppt on 4th of July.

Is AB Cerritos currently doing PPT's or are they passing on them?

Of your in OC there are other options than AB. I've always had a hassle going there. Always have to wait when there are only two customers while the sales people are behind the counter chatting. Mind you this is at 11 am on a weekday. Took an hour before we were helped to start a PPT.

I only go there if the buyer requests meeting there.

But I've been to the Ontario store and have to admit their service was awesome. If I lived in that area I would definitely frequent that location

Save your time. Went there last Saturday at 13:30. They told everyone to leave and come back in the morning on the next business day.

Went straight to AB Santa Ana right after. Did a PPT and a handgun purchase at the same time. No wait, no appointments needed.

Iíve noticed this. Seems SA has it better handled than Cerritos.

Just did a PPT at the Cerritos store this afternoon. Rudy was very accommodating, and we weren't there more than half an hour. This was my second experience with that store, and I'd go back for sure.

Is Ammo Bros still forcing people to buy locks even if the PPT has the original lock in the gun case?

Not if the buyer signs the gun safe affidavit, stating make and model of the safe.

Ammo Liars Cerritos refuse to allow buyers to sign, and file, a Safe Affidavit for transfer of a Handgun.

Per Wanker Manager "Marcus". "It's the LAW". Even though it isn't.

And when made aware of the actual 2 laws [Ca-FSD and Fed-CSLA]

He yells "I don't get paid to read laws, I get paid to enforce POLICY".

As he scurries into his office.

Thanks for the reply Sequencer.

I would like Ammo Bros. to confirm their policy on PPT’s and if they are still requiring a lock purchase if the original lock is still in the gun case. It’s been a while since I’ve been in, so I’m not sure what the current policy is.

Re: Ammo Bros Cerritos...

I headed down after speaking w Ed on the morning of 6/15 I asked him if they were currently doing PPT’s he said “yeah, come on down but we have had lines the past few weeks arrive by 4 but don’t worry we’ll get it done” I arrive at 3:25 and get in line, get inside at 5:15 assisted by Nick who was super cool/ very friendly. Truly appreciated the great Customer Service. I was out by 5:50 PM

Yeah, it was crazy due to everybody buying, this is the norm now days. I waited 15 days prior to pick up per their website updates. Pick up date Nick once again. AWESOME service!

We do not require the customer to buy a lock, if the original lock is with the gun and the lock is listed on the DOJ site as the approved lock to come with that gun.

AmmoBro's should be renamed "No AmmoBro'" for obvious reasons.

Long *** wait.. but once you are inside, they are very, very nice guys.

But.. I will NEVER go back there until they have better organization for the lines. The line is the line... not their fault. But you can be out there for a looooong time without them ever walking the line and asking you what you want. They could save a lot of people a lot of time.

Buddy went there to order a firearm decided after waiting weeks he was told if he wanted to get his money back he would be charged a restocking fee for a firearm not in stock. How does that work we charge a restocking fee for a firearm not in stock or have to be restocked.

Oh, that is called "bend the customer" maneuver. Only bad retail stores pull that move.

Not to defend them one way or the other, but having just purchased a G19 that was not in stock, the purchase is considered a "special order" and the paperwork clearly states "If purchaser cancels this transaction or faults on payment for any reason, purchaser agrees to forfeit the minimum down payment" which is 20%. If they are unable to deliver the item in 90 days, the deposit will be refunded in full.

If your buddy had waited weeks, looks like he could have waited for the 90 days to run and then received a full refund without forfeiting the 20%.

My experience with AB was great from purchase to picking up my gun. Since the gun was not in stock, it took about 6 weeks for it to come in and then had to go back in to complete the DROS. Picked up my gun last Friday.

Iíve been to Ammo Broís 2 times the past two months and every time it took me about 30 minutes to get in. Thatís not a long time. People need to stop complaining. Next time donít wait until the last minute to buy your gun or Ammo.

You need to realize that this thread has nothing to do with buying at last minute or waiting in line. Read the thread and try again.
