Default Bolt Down Your Safe

Don't be lulled into a false sense of security thinking that your safe is so heavy it doesn't need to be bolted down. You would be amazed at how easily safes can be moved by someone experienced and properly equipped. I watched the delivery of a 4,200 lb safe. On a hard level surface, it took only one man to move it. Imagine how much easier an 1800 lb safe would be to move. Especially by a thief who is not concerned about damage.

I recommend always bolting down a safe, regardless of its weight.

Default Highest Quality Gun Safes

For anyone interested in investing in a top end gun safe, and not your typical formed sheet metal box (Residential Security Container), check out Graffunder. Their Emperor & Fortress models have a 1-1/2" thick solid door plate and a 1" thick steel box. The insulation is a poured concrete like composite. These models range up to 5,000 lbs in weight depending on size.

This is the safe that has a door gap so small you can barely fit a business card into it. In my opinion, this is one of the few really great gun safes out there.

+1. They gave me a good price on my AMSEC TL15, years ago; good delivery and installation.
