Default Ruger 10/22 International - Let's See 'Em

I am deciding whether to put fiber optics or a small scope on it. A peep sight of some sort would be cool. I am envious of the Ruger Internationals in stainless.

Let us know how the stock turns out. I always thought laminate stocks were put together with pre stained wood.
Personally I’d keep it the way it is….sharp 10/22.

The Mannlicher stock looks very nice. I would prefer a single dot scope. 👍

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

I bought the model 1264 years ago and love it. I added a Kidd trigger and springs etc. and eventually changed to a GM barrel. Had to do a little sanding but not that much. Also changed the bipod to an Atlas like the one in the foreground.

Wow I like the stainless rifle's barrel length. Can I do that to my standard 10/22?

I have been hoping they would do the gray laminate stock on an International No1 in .308 for years.
Staining to brown will be a problem. The wood is stained then assembled under great pressure with epoxy and finally shaped and a gloss finish applied.
It won't take stain well even after you sand it down.

Both of these were Green Mountain 20" Sporter Tapered barrels, nos. 901913 and 901914. My favorite one is the fluted 901677. I have 5 standard Ruger 10/22's that I've replaced their barrels with these. There is a little sanding involved to make them fit nicely, esp. the end area of the 1264 stainless steel one. However, it really came out nice didn't it. Again, these are all 20" barrels.

Also note, GM aren't the only folks who sell GM barrels. Several of mine came from Rimfire Sports & Custom as they were cheaper. Way back when I was looking, I also saw them on eBay too. Look around. If you have a 10/22 with a bull barrel, then don't use these. The sporter tapered barrels are close to being drop in. I've put them into 1264, 1102, and two 11165's.

I've searched around for a Green Mountain 20" blued tapered, non-fluted, but noone has any. GM said they don't know when they will produce more. I am looking for the one identical to the barrel on your stainless, but blued. If you know anyone that has one for sale, please let me know

Beautiful. I think I am going to sell mine and get a takedown, then convert the Mannlicher to fit.

Are the GM barrels easy to have threaded? I am dead-set on getting a 20" barrel to make my 10/22 look just like yours. I reached out to GM and they said the muzzle on the tapered sporter model is too thin to be threaded, it can only be done on thicker bull barrels.

I want to know if their 920" bull barrels or our heavy tapered sporter barrels will fit in a Mannlicher stock

No idea. I have no use for a threaded barrel on a Ruger 10/22.
