It's a state legal form. They can make up their own, but other counties don't have to honor it if it's not on the state's form.

That used to be the case. The law changed last year. The county still needs to send in the state form, but only need to give you the card now. The card is good throughout the state now.

Even before then, San Bernardino and many other counties issued on plastic.
The DOJ "rice paper" was retained by the SO in your file.
Some agencies issued both, one who allowed 6 guns on the permit required that you carry the paper only if you were carrying a gun not listed on the plastic card (limited room).

Still have my original rice paper from ages ago in my CCW file.

Ironic thing.
When I lived in CA I travelled 5 days a week outside CA.
Now that I live in AZ I spend 4-5 days every week in effing SoCal.

Does anybody know if they will accept fingerprints if I roll them myself.

Not being cheap... already called all the local cities to me, only 3 provide this service now, all are booked 2 weeks out...

That very quick turnaround. My packet was mailed yesterday and there is a place that does ink fingerprinting right down the street from me. Would be nice to have a 1 week turn around after I mail it back.

I just had mine done on Monday at Michael's Livescan in the city of Orange. $17 for the first card and $3 for the second=$20. If not convenient, many Postal Annex can do them, but the one nearest to me wanted $30 per card.

These are almost quicker than for AZ residents.
Average time posted by AZGO members is 2 weeks.

Good evening everyone,
Ok, I am gonna be the retard here and ask the question. I been reading this thread for the last hour or more and my question is this.

I live in Kommiefornia but want to apply for a multi-state ccw, mainly my areas of travel would be Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington State, Idaho and Montana. I have a valid unrestricted CA CCW. I have seen those online sign-up that charge an arm and a leg...nearly $200 for a PayPal payment with no other instructions other then to fill out the online application. Sounds like a gimmick to me.

I am unable to travel to Arizona at this time but Yuma is closest to me if I could. What are my alternatives, how do I get this packet I see people mentioning, are there any exemptions due to me being a ccw holder...any help would be great.

For the States you listed, the AZ non-resident permit will gain you Nevada.
OR, WA don't play with AZ. Not sure about MT.
I 'think's a UT non-resident permit might gain you those.
If you want the AZ permit just call or email the AZ DPS, no need to come to AZ. If you have the CA permit that covers training, so the only cost is fingerprints, $65, and postage.

UT will give you WA, but not OR. MT honors AZ and UT.

So late last night, I emailed Arizona DPS and they're sending me the packet. Is there anything else I need to send them other then the stated requirements? I was planning on sending a copy of my current CA ccw, is that really necessary or will it help speed up the process? Anything to help it along...

Read the instructions. Current CCW counts for training.

when you get the packet:

- fill out the application
- get 2 FBI fingerprint cards done
- copy your current CA ccw
- get $60 mo
- mail the packet back to az

I been hearing that AZ non resident ccw does not have a photo, is this true? How would any law enforcement agency be able to identify that its mine without a photo on it? Is the photo optional or do I need to go get a passport quality photo?
I know for a fact the Utah non resident has a photo.

Anyone shed some light on this, sorry for the stupid question...

The AZ license states on the back: "This permit must be presented with an official form of photo identification (driver's license from any state, identification card issued pursuant to ARS 28-3165.A., military ID card, or passport).

Giaking,

Don't overthink AZ.

They have constitutional carry. All law enforcement assume people are armed and ask if you have any weapons if they feel the need...

It's not like CA where it ccw is more "unusual"...

Any good places to shoot outdoors in Arizona, especially easily accessible BLM land near the CA border where I can shoot tracers and tannerite? I had an Arizona CCW but I let it expire because I never went there due to lack of a good shooting place.

I still have my Nevada CCW because I like going to Vegas and the nearby Sloan shooting area, where I can shoot tracers and tannerite except during the summer fire season.
