Default Going to Colorado in 1 Month

Going to Denver in a month. I would like to carry while there but dont have a non-resident CCW. Any suggestion on which non-resident license to get that would be approved and received by the time my trip comes on 9/18.

Thanks!

There isn’t one. Colorado doesn’t honor any non-resident CCW.
They only honor the reciprocity, meaning if your state of residency honor CO CCW, the will honor your state.

I used to live in Oklahoma and used OK CCW.

Thanks for the response, but let me clarify my question...
Which state's Non-resident CCW license that has reciprocity in CO can be issued and received in time for my trip.

You’re welcome.

Not sure if I can make it clearer, CO will not recognize any Non-resident CCW period and they will not issue to Non-resident. They only recognize the CCW from the state that you have residency and your state recognizes/honors CO CCW. They are a true reciprocity.

I presume you’re a California resident so there isn’t one that you can get to be valid with CO.

A CA resident cannot obtain a CO ccw in any form. The only option is open carry unless restricted by the county/city.

BTW, Kiowa creek has a great trap and skeet range at very affordable rates. Hit that up while you're here.

FYI, you can carry loaded in your vehicle. You can leave it in the glove box, under the seat, etc. All legal without a permit!

I'm noticing a trend:
Colorado allows weed, but not non-res CCW permits
California allows weed, but does not honor out-of-state permits (resident or non-resident) and makes it very difficult or impossible (depending on the county).

Let everyone get stoned and they won't need guns?

Keep your weed. I'm not into that at all. I want to CCW.

He also implied colorado is anti gun because they dont issue non resident permits. Lots of states people here would consider VERY pro 2A also don't do that. Colorado honors out of state permits from 33 other states. It's not our fault you and others choose to live someplace that wont give you a permit or honor reciprocity.

Well, then move or open carry.

The page that was linked did state that CO only recognized any of those 33 states permits if the holder was a resident of the state that issued it.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Colorado IS anti-gun. You are unfortunately controlled by Denver, Fort Collins, and the ski areas. They are not as bad as California, but still in the bottom third of the states. And, it is only going to get worse. Colorado was very pro gun until your current governor had a democratic controlled senate and house and he got gun control passed.

Starting in January, you will have democrats in control of both legislative branches and the governor. Brace yourself for more gun control! We know that not every democrat is anti-gun, but I think the majorities are big enough to get their anti-gun agenda passed.

I have yet to meet a Democrat that is pro gun. Some say they are, but anyone who votes for a Democrat is anti 2A.

And as of now, I fully agree CO is off my list. The jackwagon that got elected is among the worst, and with democrats running both houses, it wont get any better. We're already looking to sell the property and move. 2 years from now we'll probably be in Texas.

There are a few in politics that are not anti-gun, but I agree they are few and far between. There was a local election where a moderate Democrat was running against a moderate Republican here a few years back. I voted for the democrat because he was actually more pro gun than the Republican. However, in general, I agree with you!
