Default Pennsylvania

Anyone have the PA permit? I am going to be in Philly in a couple weeks and am looking into getting my PA permit. Anyone know the best counties near Philly to get it?

P a is shall issue for residents.

Non resident is shall issue as well, as long as you have a home State Ltc.

Yes, I am aware. You need to apply and pick-up in person. I am looking for people who may know the best counties to apply. For instance, Philadelphia takes a while. I have heard some counties do same day turnaround. I am looking to see if anyone has gone through the process recently.

Uggh... Philthy is the one screwball locale for a PA LTCF; not even Allegheny (Pittsburgh) is a PITA like Philthy. Montgomery, Berks, Philadelphia, and Bucks counties ALL suck for local issuance; not sure about Delaware. I'd try Chester first, and Lancaster for the win, if all else fails.

Better place to check, would be PAFOA.org. Peruse that board, or join up & ask. All the best on the application, & good luck surviving your time there. If you can make it over to the GOOD side of the Commonwealth, I'll buy ya' a beer.

Thank you! That is exactly what I was looking for! I am trying to hit all 30 MLB stadiums so unfortunately, that means Philly haha. I will likely make it to the westside of PA in the next couple years!

Back when PA allowed for permit applications via the mail, THE go to county was Centre County and their Sheriff was hugely pro-RKBA!

I don't know anything about the current Sheriff or how well they process permits, however they are definitely worth a call. And $20 is not bad!

•$20 (CASH ONLY) will be required when applying for the License to Carry.

I was in the Philly area a few months ago. I considered mailing my application into Adams County and then picking it up when I arrived. Their sheriff's website still says the application can be mailed in. The main reason I didn't apply is because they require two character references that aren't family.

I was visiting with the wife's family and I really didn't have anyone to use as a reference. After spending a couple weeks there I now have the references. So the next time I go to PA I will apply via mail and then take a detour when visiting Gettysburg.
