Default For those looking to Renew in Kamath county OR

Renewal appointments wait time is now 4 months to the day.

My permit will expire in so I'll not be going to Oregon for 4 months now they only accept in person renewals.

Price is $50 for renewal

So if your permit expires in 4 months, now's the time to make that appointment.

Your welcome

Or one could go to the Lake County (Lakeview) , or Grant County (Canyon City) Oregon Sheriff's Office - where they allow walk ins for your initial or renewal applications.

I was just at Lake County SO (Lakeview), and did my paperwork last Thursday September 20th.

Did you need a GC statement or references or anything else?

In Lake County Oregon http://www.lakecountyor.org/government/sheriff.php

- I had to have my CA Drivers License, State Of California CCW, copy of Birth Certificate/ or passport to show US citizenship, proof of range qualification or my DD-214 from the military, and the 5 page downloaded .pdf document from the Lake County Sheriffs Office website - that had a section for your GC (general cause).

Heather the only LCSO Civil Division Deputy (that you will need to call 1st) gave me some 'hints' as to my GC, and told me mine was excellent with 3 sentences written.

Oh and they asked for two references, so I used my long time neighbors for that section.

Thanks for the info. I don't see a place on the application for good cause and the website is very limited.

I am actually driving to ID and OR soon, maybe I will swing by. I have an OR cert from my UT class (I think it's around somewhere)

I'd have to look for references that are not family and not anti-gun.

Look at the bottom on page 4 of 5 on the downloaded .pdf Concealed Handgun License Application document, in the section - "USE THIS SPACE FOR ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION". That is where you write your GC statement...
