I have the CA CCW and the AZ CCW which covers most of the nation according to https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/res...#recRestricted.
I was advised to apply for the UT CCW too but it only adds WA and doesn't seem like it really expands reciprocity. Is there another state I should consider to cover the states that are not already covered in the map linked above?

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000. |

Depends where you travel to often.
OR gives you OR but you have to apply in person. FL gives you FL. Can be done by mail. ID enhanced gives you MN. But must be done in person and an ID class is required. Otherwise, you have most basis covered for the western US.

The 13 states I cannot carry in are places I rarely visit. Was just curious if there was an option for those I wasn't aware of.

I have Utah because for whatever reason TN doesn't cover Washington. Other than that, adding liberal blue states like NY and Illinois are just too difficult and I don't want to go. In CA I had UT and AZ because it covered WA and NM respectively. States I am likely to be in on motorcycle rides etc.
So in short, if WA is a place you're likely to travel, get UT.

When an instructor offered non-resident Arizona CCW at our gun club (following our CCW renewal class) he included Utah as well (he had all the forms, processes, etc.). So I got both. Easy renewal every five years by mail.

Utah gives you WA but not NM.
https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/res...#recRestricted AZ gives ya pretty much the best coverage. Don't see much use for the UT card. https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/res...#recRestricted
