Default San Mateo Co CCw

Does anyone know the exact address where we pick up our CCW in San Mateo County. I scheduled a date but forgot to ask ask the address not was one provided in the email. The individual issuing won’t be available until the day off I believe so I was hoping someone here has that information. Thanks

My guess would be the sheriff's office in Redwood City. 400 County Center, they are on the third floor. Don't try to take anything in the building, as it's also the main court house in the county.

400 County Center, Redwood City, CA 94063
Entrance is on the West side.
3rd floor. Go left from the elevators 3rd floor lobby and you'll see she Sheriff's investigator office. Go in the windowed door and you'll see a receptionist behind another window.
It's a secured building so you'll have to go through metal detectors and xray machine for your belongings.

What’s the process to add a pistol to an existing ccw?

What’s the cost to do so? I assume you have to qualify again with the added pistol? Is there a range fee in addition to the modification fee?

I have been told by SMSO you have to qual with the new pistol(s) with the instructor you took your CCW class from. Personally I think that sounds odd; I don't know why you can't qual with any approved CCW vendor. I also don't know how this would work if your class was with SMSO before they started outsourcing.

Each instructor sets their own rates. I charge $40 + the $25 San Leandro range fee to qual however many pistols you want to add--or you can book a one hour private coaching session ($90 + $25 range fee) and you shoot the qual and we train for the rest of the hour. (I would rather train you for an hour than just do the qual.)

I don't know if you need to notify SMSO and get approval prior to the qual or can simply inform them afterwards. Assuming the pistol(s) are okay (acceptable make, model and caliber) I think it's okay to notify them aftewards. But I could be wrong.

Thanks. SMCS indicated that I should submit the modification request online, once approved, I will be in touch for the qualification. After that, a certificate will be submitted just like before. Certificate needs to included all the firearms including the ones already on the ccw I believe. Then Jennifer will reissue.

Any news on the rate at which San Mateo Co. is dealing with applications? I submitted mine in mid-Sept. last year and have heard nothing.

Considering they're still on early July applicants, you're going to want to check back later. Out of the blue you'll get a text message about approval.
