Default 6.5 Creedmoor w/H4895?

Has anyone besides me tried this recipe? I am using 34gr of H4895 with Hornady Cases and Winchester LRP. I am pushing 140gr Nosler Match King HPBT.

I have been using these for 1-200 yard range shooting. I am getting nice groups of about .75 with my RPR and Vortex PST.

I have not chrono these yet but the Nosler recipe says they should be about 2480 fps.

I just happen to have 8lbs of the H4895. I am using it on my .308 rounds in my AR10 and Ruger Gunsite Scout.

According to the Hodgdon site, you're at max with 34.0gr H4895 and a 140gr bullet. They're getting 2555 fps/MV.

Never used it for a 6.5. I use H4350 almost exclusively in my 6.5 and think its the best powder around for them, especially with the 140s.

Default Sierra Reloading recipe

I used this Sierra reloading recipe and it says I can push to 36gr. My OAL is 2.795 so they fit in my Gen3 PMAG.

The barrel length comes into play here too. How long is your barrel compared to the test barrel for the load data? Longer barrel should give you more velocity.

What is the goal with your load, too shoot at 200 yards, or to really stretch out to 1,000? If you want to stretch to 1,000 i think you're leaving some velocity on the table with that powder.

Also, while its good to follow the book, watch the brass for signs of pressure. In my experience the books are usually conservative and you can push them harder, but once again it all depends on what you are trying to do.
