We could still use another experienced reloader or two to help.

The class is full but, I bet there will be at least one flake so, we'll take a few alternates.

If anyone backs out, please count me in. I have no experience and/or equipment yet. But I definitely want to learn before I buy anything. Interested in reloading .40 s&w for now. What do I have to do to sign up?

I really want to get out there and do this. Will be traveling and helping Susan Shelley on her campaign (see link below) until after the weekend of the 12th.

If anyone is in the area and free (you do not need to be in her district), I encourage you to come out and help.

Count me in as well for the next class. I'm looking to learn how to hand load 9's .45, .223, .308 Match, .300WM, and 6.5 Grendel.

I think just about everyone (CSA, Toes, IntoForever, and myself at least) have these dies. Not a problem! Brass and bullets and appropriate powder might be in shorter supply.

We really need to get a clinic together. The last general one was in mid-July. CSA is very busy with his move and helping other clubs all over the place, so who wants to step up? Seems there's plenty of demand here...

I have a second set of 7.62x39 dies that I'm donating to the club so they should always be available....Hell I even have 5.45x39 dies and a bullet sizing die if anybody has some 222rem brass, and wants to get really stupid.

Yeah, the more difficult(but not impossible) part will be sourcing components. I'm a stingy bastard and don't want to get up off of any of my stash.

Well....I talked to CSA at the VC chapter clinic this weekend it looks like I might be stepping up and organizing/teaching(god help us all) the next clinic at your shop. I need to contact intoforever and see if I can get him on board. Looks like I can count on you and bruinguy already. Hopefully we can get something set up for the beginning of November. I'll be in touch.

Tunjungatoes, thank you, once again for your work to make our clinic a success. You are totally ready to instruct, I found your input to be very helpful, precise and engaging. Looking forward to having you up to help out with the next clinic hopefully.

Reloading, 5.45x39?!? I want to see someone get that stupid!

If I can get my hands on some .222 brass I'll get that stupid! Let me know what other components I'll need for powder and bullets.

.222rem(not 222rem mag) brass, small rifle primers of your choosing, some 55-60ish grain .223 projectiles, and some appropriate powder(I think I was using 4198). For good overview of some bullets and powders for this do a google search for "5.45x39 reloading" and look for threads by calgunners bolt2bounce and noonanda. Those guys know their sh*t. I just followed their results.

I'm anxious to get this going otherwise I may just go rogue and start buying equipment all willy nilly...you wouldn't want that to happen now would you

And I do have saved brass (30-06) that I can bring to reload. Just nothing else since i have no idea what to buy (for a Garand load).

For a good Garand load, you should get .308 bullets between 150 to 168gr; I prefer FMJBT. Hornady makes some 150gr that are pretty reasonable at about $22/100, and Grafs sells a similar (identical?) bullet for about the same price. If you want more of a "match" load go with the heavier bullet, but for a Garand not above a 168.

I like to use IMR4895 powder, but I also use IMR4064.

Hornady's data for 30-06 Garand loads is useful, but there's lots of data online too.

30-06 was the first load I made at the clinic (I think Bubbala too), and it is a satisfying one. I've made a whole lot more since then for my Garand.

If you're looking for equipment, this is on sale right now:

I would like to learn how to reload 9mm, 40sw and 45acp but before I start buying the equipment I would like to try it out first and get info what equipment is needed. How do I sign up for the next class?

Ok preparations are underway for the November 10th clinic. Some students from the canceled clinic have been confirmed, and others who showed interest have been contacted to fill in the remaining spots and take a couple alternates for when somebody inevitably flakes.

Apologies ChryslerFirePower. I somehow overlooked you. PM inbound.

Let me know if you need presses, dies, bullets, brass, powder, etc. I will be keeping our country safe from the invading Yankees that weekend so, It'll be hard to contact me even via telegraph. If we prevail and send the yellow bellied Yanks running early, I'll be trying to fill a deer tag or two at home. The season starts the 9th and is only 16 days long. That's another reason I won't be making this clinic.

Hmm. Depending on logistics and details, I could possibly make a Nov. 10 clinic. I'd be interested in being added to the alternates list, if still possible.

Thanks for coming! I hope you gained some experience/confidence from the hands on. I also hope I wasn't a horrible instructor for you guys. I tried to be at least moderately focused and not go off on a million profanity laced tangents.

"I’m sure to do better next time. It was my first flight, and I’m still getting used to my programming!"

*edit*Let me know what questions you guys still have. Let me know if there's anything that you've heard about and maybe we didn't touch on, or if I kept beating any dead horses and harping on too much about what kind of stuff I love or hate. I'd appreciate feedback. I already know a couple things that I'll be trying to do differently next time.

I am going to hold a bit of a drawing. I have three extra Crossroads of the west gun show V.I.P. passes that expire on the 31st. If you would like to go and get in free then post and send a PM to me with a contact number so I may get a mailing address.
On Friday night I will draw two people from the names. First draw gets two passes second draw gets one. The Delmar show is scheduled on the 14th and 15th of December, Ventura and Reno both on the 21st and 22nd and Las Vegas on the 28th and 29th.

Here is the catch, you must have posted in one of the club threads prior to my offering them in this post. Making this open to any one one from any CGSSA reloading club chapter.

Oh. News tidbit. Reloading club members now get a 5% discount when ordering bullets from Missouri Bullet Company www.missouribullet.com. Contact your chapter lead for the discount code.

We can all thank Bumslie this.

Wishing you all a great Holiday season.
