S&W 1911 Series E range report
I know this thread is worthless without pics, but...
I love this gun. Today I shot it at the range for the first time. I purchased it last month. The range only has 25 yard setups and 30 minute sessions for everyone simultaneously, so no photos as I had other guns with me that I shot in each session. Anyway... The first 50 shots I was sloppy and getting used to the gun. After 75 shots I started to really tune in. The last 25 shots I hit the red bullseye 7 times, and the black 15 times, which is really good for me at 25 yards. I came home and told my wife this is our home defense gun! I still hit the red bullseye more with my CZ 75 Compact (20 in the red and 50 in the Black at 25 yards) but, the .45 is a really great gun. I enjoyed cleaning it after and found it to be fairly easy to break down and not a difficult gun to clean. I think with some time, I might try this gun at amateur matches and contests. It is worth every penny I spent on it.

The E Series looks like a great 1911.
My first 1911 I ever bought was a stock SW1911 many years ago. I still shoot that gun the most out of all the handguns I've acquired over the years. It has never skipped a beat-- 100% reliable since the day I bought it. I use it as my primary HD gun as well. E Series looks very nice. Congrats!! |
