CMP Sanctioned Matches: GSM + M-1/M-4 Carbine

BRRC - Castaic, CA

START TIME: 1:00pm. Following the Morning GSM Match.
Arrive at the range by 12:30pm.

Stage 1. Up to 10 sighting shots then 10 shots for record slow fire, prone position. 15 minutes including time for sighting shots.
Stage 2. 10 shots rapid fire, prone position (from standing). One ten shot string with a reload, 60-second time limit.
Stage 3. 10 shots rapid fire, sitting position (from standing). One ten shot string with a reload, 60-second time limit.
Stage 4. 10 shots slow fire, standing position. 10 minute time limit.


PURPOSE OF MATCH: The purpose of these matches is to provide an opportunity shooters to learn and practice rifle shooting techniques. No instruction class will be offered at these matches although experienced coaches will be on the line to assist beginning shooters, if arranged in advance.

The M-1 Carbine match is Sanctioned by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) Participants using an as-issued M-1 Carbine will be eligible for CMP Achievement Awards.

The M-4 Carbine portion of the match is designed to allow owners of carbine length M-16/AR-15 platform firearms to shoot the same course of fire. Using open sights or non-magnifying (1X power) optical sights . Full length rifles of any type may not be used. Competitors using these rifles will have scores reported to the CMP as firing a "Modern Military Rifle" and are not eligible for CMP M-1 Carbine Achievement Awards.

COURSE OF FIRE:
This will be a 40 shot match fired at 100 yards on NRA SR-1


Scores
Shooters firing an as-issued U.S. M-1 Carbine are eligible for CMP achievement awards.

RULES: Current CMP Rules shall apply.

Competitors are responsible for prividing their own rifles and ammunition for this match. This is a no-alibi match. Competitors are expected to ensure that their equipment is in good working order.
All competitors must have and use shooting glasses and hearing protectors.
Participants must be 15 years of age or older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Shooting mats will be provided.

Pre-Registration is required no later than Saturday before the match.

COSTS: Match fee is $17.00 for non-members, $7.00 for members.
Match Fee is N/C (included) if paid for Morning GSM Match.
M-1 Carbine ammunition is available for competitors at $25.00 for 50 rounds, subject to change.

Carbine length meaning 14.5" barrels or can I use a 16" barrel AR with a carbine gas system?

I might try this one too since I already there. I will need to borrow one of the clubs M-1 carbine/ammo. Never shot an m-1 carbine so this should be interesting.

DVSride,
The club doesn't have loaner carbines or carbine ammo... sorry.
You can shoot the match with your AR as a Modern Military reduced to 100 yd match.
