Default Looking for entry level construction or other labor gigs in Contra Costa area.

Hello,

I'm looking for a mechanic or construction or CalTrans etc. manual labor job in the Concord area. Or maybe a plumber or electrician apprentice job, but I know those are rare. Heck, digging ditches.

Also open to County gigs like the water department or hazmat so in.

PM me if you know of anything entry level or if you questions.

You mentioned CalTrans........if so you need to start here. https://jobs.ca.gov/

Local or County specific jobs you will need to contact them not CA.Jobs

Good luck

Dude, if seeking employment with Caltrans, Water Dept, County, why would you post on a gun forum? You need to reach out to them on their sites, find out the procedures, etc., or are you just trolling.

Get your CDL, go to local 1245 out of I think Vacaville and sign the books for Groundman. Pay is about $35/hr and you get like $200/day per diem.

Basically if you want any union job- laborers union, electricians, plumbers, public utilities, etc- you have to go to the individual union office to apply. They put you on a list for initial training and orientation, and schedule you in when theres an opening but you're at the back of the line- it can take months just to get a seat in the class. After you finish the class, you'll be at the end of the work list and you have to wait until an employer calls the union asking for workers, eventually you'll get sent to a job.

The other way is to find a company that will sponsor you- when the union has an employer willing to give you a job as soon as youre available, they give you priority in the orientation schedule and youre at your job the week after. This is probably the best way if you have any friends or acquaintances that can help get your foot in the door of a company that is looking to hire and willing to sponsor you.
