DOJ Live Scan firearms still pending...
Hello Everyone,
I would like to ask if anybody is in the same boat as I am. My CCW live scan was done May 6th- and the CA and FBI section were both completed the same day, but the firearms is still in progress, going on 14 days now. I have never been convicted or arrested. I guess I would like to ask if this isn't weird as its upsetting to keep checking everyday Thank you Last edited by occcw32; 05-20-2021 at 9:07 PM.. |

Currently, it seems most applicants have been having their firearms portion of the livescan clear in about a month's time.

I am currently on the same boat as you. I did my live scan on May 7, the CA and FBI section cleared that same day, but the firearms section is still pending as of today. A friend of mine did theirs on April 30, and it was cleared yesterday. So I am confident ours should be clearing within a week or so.

CA and FBI are automated record checks. DOJ then hand reviews firearms/APPS, etc.

Didn't clear yet! Going on week 7 and did reach out to the investigators at Riverside County. He said they were waiting for the results and he would inquire to see if there is an issue. Crazy

So I submitted my application the first week of September at the local Sheriff's Dept in W. Hollywood. I know there's a long road ahead. But if I want to do the livescan and firearms training early, how do I go about it? On the livescan front, do I need a specific form or place I need to go? What do I tell the livescan people? ANd do they send it directly to the Sheriff or to me? LASTLY, I have an Exposed Firearm Permit and a Security Guard card, does anyone in my shoes have experience if this helps in getting things sped up?

Security Guard exposed will not speed it up - it is handled via a different group at DOJ. |
