![]() ![]() Random chunk of rosewood I found at the local wood supply place and some repurposed aluminum for the bolster. Having never really used a Mora before, it's a terrible kitchen knife, lol. It'll be a nice general purpose camping/backpacking knife though.

Looks so fancy you really dressed up that Mora. I had no idea what to expect,it looks like a pricy knife now, good job.
Yes they suck in the kitchen.

The Mora blades are good, nothing special, but good; and a tool is only as good as it's user interface right? heh. I think this one is going to get a decent, but plain, pancake sheath.

Thanks! I had never worked with rosewood before and didn't know what to expect. I was surprised at how easy the aluminum bolster was to work with and 'polish' (only taken to 320 grit) on the sides. It came out nice and I learned some things!

Yup, this was a good pick, but a lucky piece. Part of it has a decent knot and some cracks, there was just enough for about 5x2 inches of mostly clear wood. I've still got enough for another scaled handle or a pen blank or something. Every time I go in there it certainly seems like I find more wood I just need to do something with, I just need more somethings to do!

Before you know it, word gets out and people will start dropping hints.
I first found out about Global from a friend who stopped by my local watering hole with a paper lunch bag full of random chunks he happened to ‘find’ on his lunch break. I used a piece of Acacia and used a Lauri carbon blade for it. |
