Camp Pendleton Practical Precision Rifle and Carbine Feb 2nd 2020

After a few successful matches under our belts, Santa Margarita Gun Club will be hosting a combined Practical Precision Rifle and Carbine match. 8 stages, approximately 60 for precision guns or 100 for carbines, plus ~60 for pistol. Bring extra. Each stage will have both PPR and carbine targets. Contact the match director if you are military and need to borrow guns or ammo. If you are civilian don't have base access, please pay attention to the registration page for specifics on registering for base access - the deadline is tomorrow night. If you are in the industry and can donate swag or goodies, please contact the match director. We are attempting to build a community on base and goodies are a great way to spread goodwill and introduce more to the sport.

Sunday February 2nd Santa Margarita Gun Club will host a long-range practical precision/carbine rifle match at R218A aboard Camp Pendleton. This style of match consists of shooters firing rifles at reactive steel targets ranging from 250-1100 yards from various challenging positions and props under time constraints. This is a fast-paced exciting venue that challenges shooting fundamentals, target acquisition, time management, and critical thinking. The match will allow participants to put their training to the test and is sure to challenge even the most experienced shooters.

Allowed rifle classes are as follows:
Tactical Precision: (intended for military bolt guns, DMRs)
-.223 or .308 caliber
-No optic restrictions
-Bipod allowed
-1x bag allowed per stage

Open Precision (intended for PRS guns)
-No caliber restrictions
-No optic restrictions
-No bag or bipod restrictions

Limited Carbine (intended for issue M4s & similar)
-5.56, 5.45, etc.
-Maximum (1) optic up to 4x
-No bipods or tripods allowed
-1x bag allowed per stage
-30 round magazines only

Modern Carbine
-5.56, 5.45, etc.
-No optic restrictions
-No bipod or tripod restrictions
-No bag restrictions
-No magazine restrictions

Examples for common rifles and their possible divisions are:
Military Issue M4/M16A4, and AR15: primarily Limited Carbine, but will fit any division.
Military Issue IAR: any division (by taking off bipod/RMR).
DMR: Tactical Precision, Open Precision or Modern Carbine.
M40A6/M110: Open Precision or Modern Carbine.
6/6.5mm PRS Rifle: Open Precision.
308 Gas Gun: Tactical Precision or Open Carbine.

Shooters of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to attend this event. Experienced shooters will be on-hand to help coach and instruct new shooters and run the stages at the match.

General Information:

SHOOTERS MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 0730 DAY OF THE MATCH TO PARTICIPATE.

ALL SHOOTERS REQUIRING BASE ACCESS MUST BE US CITIZENS OR GREEN CARD HOLDERS, WILL NEED TO PASS A BACKGROUND CHECK AND PHYSICALLY GO TO THE CAMP PENDLETON VISITORS CENTER (THURS or FRI preceding the match) AND RETRIEVE THEIR VISITORS PASS UPON APPROVAL. NO ESCORTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT TO THE VISITORS CENTER PRIOR TO THE MATCH YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE BASE.

REGISTRATION FOR SHOOTERS NEEDING BASE ACCESS CLOSES ON THURSDAY JANUARY 23RD at 9pm.

IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND THIS EVENT AFTER YOU HAVE REGISTERED IN ORDER TO GET A REFUND YOU MUST WITHDRAW FROM THE EVENT. IF YOU DO NOT WITHDRAW FROM THE EVENT AND SIMPLY DO NOT SHOW UP YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR REGISTRATION FEE.

Caliber's Allowed:
- Pistol Calibers .45 and below
- .22 cal variants
- .223 cal / 5.56 mm variants
-.243 cal / 6 mm variants
-.264 cal / 6.5 mm variants
-.284 cal / 7 mm variants
-.30 cal / 7.62 mm variants up to .300 WM
- No caliber larger than .30 cal / 7.62mm
- No muzzle velocity that exceeds 3200fps
- NO STEEL CORE, ARMOR PIERCING, MONOLITHIC, OR EXOTIC BULLETS

Round Count- Shooters will be shooting PRECISION RIFLE AND PISTOL at this months match. Shooters will need approximately 60 rds precision rifle, 100 rds for carbine, 60 rds pistol. Shooters will receive an update emails as the match date approaches if the round count changes.

SHOOTERS AND SPECTATORS MUST WEAR LONG PANTS TO ATTEND THIS EVENT. THIS IS A CAMP PENDLETON RANGE REGULATION. THOSE WHO SHOW UP WEARING SHORTS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND RETURN PROPERLY DRESSED
