Very good stuff on the ARC's. I agree with you!!

Setting them to 65lbs was a bit nerve-wrecking at first but all is good.

Haha, no joke on that. I set it up on a Murphy Precision base, and it was a little unnerving to torque it down that much. I can't say enough good about them though, and they don't leave even a mark when putting them on and off of my scopes.

All right, I've gotta know the details on that build. Sight setup, where you would get them, how they are attached, any more pics, and other info like the fluted bolt knob.

Sighted in this new puppy at Metcalf the other day. Harry at Kerley's put it together for me. I'll be taking this first target and cases back to him for a final check.

Sorry for the poor photography, but I'm sure you all know what a basic 700P looks like. A rifle with a heavy bull barrel like this is new to me, though.

This SSA ammo performed well. Now it's up to me to get them all in the same hole at this distance. Then I'll be ready for Harry's precision rifle class.

Rifle purchased at Reed's. Ammo purchased at Gun Vault. Spotting scope purchased at Mel Cotton's. Leupold scope, Harris bipod, and ambi cheekpad recommended and installed by Harry at Kerley's. I am left-handed, but shoot righty rifles.

My newest acquisition: Winchester Model 70... not as new as the other rifles here... I dated it to 1971.

I'm not the guy you quoted, but honestly I often go off the subject line and don't see what forum it was posted in because I use the "New Posts" function 99% of the time, not by digging into the subforums.

Started out as a stock Remington 700 SPS Tactical with Hogue overmolded pillar bedded stock but I upgraded the stock to the full bedded model Hogue (I like the rubberized feel of the stock)
Stock Remington trigger which breaks at 3lb 4oz.

Wyatt bottom metal w/5 and 10 round mags
Badger FTE muzzle brake (installed by Calguns KenDog)
SWFA 5-20 x 50 HD with rat tail and sunshade
Burris two piece mounts, Burris Extreme rings (low)
Butler Creek caps
Harris BR-M 6-9 bipod w/notches
Monopod BT01-QK
KGR bolt lift

Was shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yds before the muzzle break install, but I haven't got a chance to shoot it since getting it back a few days ago.

.
Here's a "Fat Uncle Scout" rifle... or, as I like to call it, the Battle Bolt:

I just put a Leupold 2.5 X 28 Scout scope on it; an extended-eye-relief deal. No pics of that yet.

Default My exotic .308

This is my first .308 so I thought I'd stay away from the "that's been done a thousand times rifles" and go with something "exotic". Hence.... this beautiful Remington 700 SPS Tactical

Ok, ok, I know....
So I got it used, roughly 75 rounds through it. It was thoroughly coated in several layers of Krylon. I stripped it down, will shoot it as is for the remainder of the year, and then It will get a 24" threaded barrel, a JAE-700 chassis, a Timney trigger, a Vortex Viper PST scope, and an Atlas bipod.

But for now, here she is:

I took the stock, bipod, and scope home to clean them up while the BA sat in jail.

Before pic of scope and bipod:

Scope and bipod after:

Cleaning up the BA:

The finished product:

Since this pic I installed the Mk2 billet trigger guard/magwell, but it pretty much looks the same.

I'd really like to see more on this rifle. For $699 from Buds, a .308, free floated heavy barrel, detachable mag with bottom metal all included, and a decent factory action, this should be an incredible buy if it actually shoots. What kind of ammo are you shooting that is sub MOA? What is the twist rate on the barrel of this rifle?

I shoot Winchester match 168g hpbt ammo. The twist rate is 1/10. Going out on Sunday I'll try to post up a range repot.
