I stayed as long as I did to make money and be near family and friends. When I retired and realized that most of those I know are moving to other states, I followed suit.

There are a surprising number of X-cali folk that moved to my area. I still go back to visit and always wind up feeling so happy that I left. The only thing missing is quality ethnic foods cooked by those who really know what they're doing.

I have two Grand Children in Minnesota and two in Calif the next town over.
Do I want to move from the Land of Sunshine to the frozen Tundra? NO!
DO I want to move at all? NO!
I still work and the setup is ideal and could not duplicate that elsewhere.
AS crazy as this state is getting, I would rather ride out the wave and enjoy my home and grand kids.
I hate moving so another move in my life is not an option.

Only because all my family is here, but I am still looking on getting back out anyway, maybe I can get some to follow me.

i am locked in this prison state for only 10 more years. (with luck, less), then i will be gone, never to allow any of my personal moneys (not able to control the fed tax theft part) to get into the tax coffers of comiefourna.

ca is lost, democrat is just another way to say socialist.

I am too young to retire, yet too old to start over.
Most of my family are here, but come retirement age I will be leaving.
It is not just guns.
The cost of living here is horrendous, that is something to consider when one is no longer part of the work force.

I too have had family here is California for over 100 years and never thought I'd leave but all my family and most of my friends are gone. Central California is not what it used to be when i grew up. I live in Santa Cruz and although it is paradise, everyone else thinks so too. So now the sleepy little retirement town I moved to so many years ago is just another crowned suberb of San Jose. All the things I love to do I can't without a million other people wanting to do the same thing. I never thought I would leave but I've had it and I have 21 months left until I retire and will be moving on somewhere I can live the way I want to live and do the things I enjoy w/o a million others trying to do the same. One day I started weighing the pros and cons of leaving and honestly the only con I have been able to come up with is leaving the remaining friends that are still here which aren't many. so in about 2 years I will be leaving but will ALWAYS continue to contribute and support GOA, CGF and NAGR. And yes I will continue to support NRA, althought they will not be getting any more of my $$$ until they clean up their act.
