Default Aadmount vs. Tenebraex scope covers?

Hey all,

Im looking at getting either Aadmount or Tenebraex scope covers for my Nightforce NX8. Any opinions, pros and cons? They both cost +/- $10 direct from the manufacturers, but a set of Tenebraex can be had for a bit less if shop around online. Any recommended online dealers for Aadmount?

Im disappointed at the stock rubber ones that NF supplies with the NX8. Theyre hard to open and close and would rather come off the scope rather than opening. A bikini scope cover would be better at that point, at least it is one piece. The caps also would not stay out of the way. I was hoping theyd come with a set of Tenebraex like what the ATACR comes with.

I actually just picked up the Aadmount covers for my NX8.

They are very solid feeling. Opening or closing them is LOUD.

But I decided to only use the front flip cover because the rear one obstructs far too much of my view. The rear cover doubles (or possibly triples) the thickness of the ring you see when looking thru the scope.

I have both and personally prefer the Tenebraex because they can turn.

The aadmount are excellent though.

Thank you, gentlemen. Maybe I’ll go with Tenebraex.

For what it's worth, I had a pair of Tenebraex covers for a TA31 Acog. They broke in less than a year of use. I'd rate them about the same as the Butler Creeks.

I can't see the Aadmount covers wearing out or breaking anywhere near that quickly. I expect them to last several years. They are extremely solid and robust.

I just picked up tenebraex and I'm not impressed. Aadmount has lifetime warranty. Tenebraex only one year and they don't seem all that rugged.

They're kinda brittle and the plastic seem all that tough. I know if I drop anything they will break for sure. For me the leupold Lumina are my gold standard.

You sure you were looking at Tenebraex? All mine feel like rubber. There is zero “brittle” about them. If anything id say the opposite since they’re rubbery? Maybe you got a bad batch?

Aadlands are made of hard plastic and def feel tough.

Leupold caps are awesome when you can find one that fits.

Have no troubles with either. I've never come across a set of Tenebraex that are as crappy as the current generations of Butler Creeks covers.

I don’t know if they make leupold caps that fit the Razor.

They do make special caps for the leupold Mk8 but they are very much like Tenebraex.

I have aadland caps on my Razor Gen2. Great caps. Expensive though.

I definitely like the aadland warranty better. I thought tenebraex had the same warranty.
