Ron is stand up guy... Went in to see if they had anymore CZ 75's. They were out, but we ended up chatting and I got to handle a bunch of guns I wouldn't have otherwise handled. Great place and great service.

I'm currently in AK on my stupid oilfield, but as soon as I get back in late December, I'm going to see Ron and get rid of some of this pesky money!
I've never been in the shop or met Ron, but I'm so tired of the cool-guy mall ninja crap that our gun shops have become in the last ten years that I'll go WELL out of my way to vote with my dollar on what I think a gun shop should be. And from what I've read here, it's Ron's shop.
My dad had an FFL that he operated out of our house when I was a kid. He had the most helpful and friendly way with people and made the gun buying experience a fun thing. This might not sound like much, unless you've ever tried to get a non-gun friend or girlfriend into shooting sports and have had them totally repulsed at the offputting vibe at most gun shops.
I've been looking for a shop like Ron's for a damn long while!

+1 on Ron being a swell guy. I was shooting my Glock 27 (purchased from a fellow Calgunner a couple years ago) at the Gun Room in EG, when the front sight just popped off! I was lucky to find it on the floor when I swept up my brass. Anyway, I'd read about Ron's shop, and happened to drop by on my way back home through Rancho.

Ron said that he didn't do gunsmithing anymore, but that he'd be happy to re-attach the sight as a favor. Got a text from him the next day, and the sight (aftermarket night sight, apparently installed without Loctite) was attached perfectly. Ron wouldn't accept any payment from me, and I didn't insist, since it was "a favor." Thanks, Ron, much appreciated.

Want to add my experience here with Ron as well. Friendly and knowledgeable, Ron is great to deal with. I've done 2 transfers with him from online purchases. If he can't match or beat the price, he will let you know and won't bat an eye at doing the transfer for you. Some shops get butt-hurt that you've found a better price elsewhere, but Ron respects the customer's budget and price they're willing to pay.

Highly recommend him to everyone and I think he currently has the cheapest price around Sacramento for FFL transfers ($30).

Definitely, but I think it is understandable if a small shop owner gets frustrated with a customer under certain circumstances. For example, if someone comes in and takes up two hours of the owners time looking at various guns and gathering data, and then goes down the street to Sportsman's Warehouse for $10 or $20. That's not cool. These nice little shops that already have fair pricing, will not be around forever if we nickle and dime them.

I agree with the nickel and diming, or wasting the shop's time. In my instance I knew exactly what I wanted (i.e. Springfield XD essential's kit) and gave Ron the opportunity to match or beat the price I found. He said it was below his cost and to go ahead and buy it as it was a great deal.

In my instance, I wasn't looking at a $10 to $20 difference. It was more like $100 to $150 difference on a pistol. That's a good chunk of change for me and now I can use the money saved to buy accessories that I would need anyway (i.e. ammo, magazines, etc.) And for those things, I'm more than happy to support the small shop.

Yeah. Sportsmans Warehouse is not a bargain. Most big box places are not when it comes to firearms. You're looking at MSRP most of the time.

Been to armory outpost a few times now. Ron is just great and is very honest. Armory outpost is now my store in the Sacramento area. I recommend anybody in the area to at least give Ron a shot. You will not be disappointed.

Well that sucks. Hopefully you make it back Tuesday - Saturday. It is a cool shop. It is 10-6 Tuesday through Friday, Saturday he opens at 9am.

I think he has at least a couple Garands left on display, maybe more in the back.

Just picked up a SSE Ron DROS'd for me. The whole process working with Ron was a pleasure. I'll definitely do business with him again.

I don't think I've ever seen a gun store that's open on Monday. But -never hurts to call before showing up.

He had a nice HRA in there the last time I stopped by.

I agree with everyone. Ron ordered a pair of CZ youth .22's for my friend and I to give to our sons for Xmas. Great price, but better than that is Ron's friendliness. He's my go to FFL in Sacramento.

There are some nice CZ compacts in the display right now, and a 75 SAO I think. I pickup on Friday, then It'll be another 20 day stretch till I can DROS my last paid for item, then another 30 again... blah.

New revolver on the roster incoming. Ron's getting one of the Ruger LCR 9mm's in for the display. If you have to have one, give him a call to pre-pay to get it ordered ASAP. I know at least one is reserved already

Went to the local Rancho Cordova big box store today to price a rifle in 22/250 and it was on sale. Was just about to throw the card down and thought Armory Outpost is just a few blocks more down sunrise might just as well see if Ron could get close to the price figured it would be quite a bit more. Not the case. Ron's price with cash/debit discount was under the big box sale price. So if your thinking about a firearm give Armory Outpost a chance to price match.

Ron's shop is great. I picked up an AR-15 and Springfield XD there. Will definitely give Ron some business again at some point later when I plan on purchasing a 1911 or shotgun.

Ron is great to work with. I've purchased two firearms from him that he ordered that have always beat or close to online prices. I'd prefer to give him money than online. Pick up my Sig 1911 tomorrow.

He usually has a good selection behind the counter or case lots on the floor in front. Everything from .22 LR to 7.62x54R. The last thing I bought there was a can of 7.62x54R Russian Heavy Ball which isn't even on the market anymore. When you buy a gun you can purchase ammo and mags, etc... for 10% off either when you DROS or when you pickup IIRC.

The discount that you get when buying a firearm actually increased to 15%. That's a great deal for buying your ammo, gun case, cleaning stuff, mags, etc... in one shot for your new gun.

Free bump for Ron. Great guy. Picked up an HK he ordered for me a couple weeks ago. Since November I've done 3 PPT's there, an SSE transfer from an out of state FFL and have purchased a gun and ammo from him.

I have to say Ron is the nicest most helpful gun store guy I've ever encountered in my life. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customer's needs, and is in the business to help our community. Definitely not a pushy salesman but you will probably end up buying a gun or three. He will do whatever he can in his power to help the customer. Prices are more than fair for guns and accessories. The first time I visited, I bought a nice clean Springfield 1911 loaded. I can't wait for tax season to be over with so I know how much money I can afford to exchange with Armory Outpost.

I highly recommend this store to everyone in this forum... I have not come close to saying that about anyone else yet.

FYI, for all you crufflers out there, Ron has Kroil at the shop for the same price you'd pay online. Picked myself up a can without having to wait on Amazon.

I purchased my first rifle from here a few weeks ago, a CZ455. It was a genuine pleasure doing business with Ron. I will continue doing business with him even though it takes me about an hour to drive there, his customer service is worth the trip.

Default Congrats on one year in business this month!

My first PPT/purchase of my Glock 36 occurred with your help in February. Over the past couple of years, more than one gun shop has opened up within a 2 mile or so radius of your store. I give those places sub B grades for professionalism, atmosphere, and customer service. But I give you an A+ all around. Your knowledge, straight-shooting, and advice are appreciated and valuable! I'm glad to live and work withing 4 blocks of your shop and to call you neighbor.

so I had to check out this shop after reading this thread. Small store with a great selection of CA handguns and rifles. But more impressed with Ron's customer service. I found my new FFL guy!!

I gave him 5 stars

Yeah I know what you mean. I live in Fairfield and I already bought 3 guns from Ron. Nice guy, knows his stuff and good price on firearms.
