Default 1903 NRA Sporters and sporter conversions

I just added a NRA sporter to my 1903s and thought you might like to see all of them.

They are: .22 cal M2; Sedgley conversion, probable G&H conversion and actual G&H conversion; and three true NRA sporters. Newest addition on the bottom. Note the "Speed Lock"/reversed safety on the rifle third from the bottoms. Cheers

Those are seriously nice. A very under appreciated Springfield 1903 area of collecting!!

I once owned a M2... But traded it decades ago...

Most guys look at these and only see a "sporterized" military rifle. Real gems of US rifle history you have there. I can imagine there is a great story related to how you obtained each of these beauties!!

I still look at the muzzle of ever early Springfield 03 or sporter I see at gun shows looking for the star "spider".

Wow, incredibly nice and beautiful!

I once found a 1903 sporter barreled receiver lying on the floor of a gun shop and bought it for $15. Star gauged barrel and all. It had massive scope mount blocks on the receiver and barrel. I put it in an 03A3 stock and handguard with milled bits. It still had the Lyman 48 receiver sight on it. What a great shooter! Traded it off of course. No one at the shop knew where the barreled receiver came from.

Wonderful OP, thank you so much for sharing.
It brings back memories from the early 70s
