Default Henry case hardened pistol ca. I want one

I don't know how long this pistol caliber case hardened gun has been out. I've seen the 45-70 and 30-30 but not the pistol caliber models .

Man O man!! this is a good looking lever gun.

Dang, golfish!!! That is PERFECTION right there. Even with the octagon barrel, I don't think it will be as heavy as the brass ones. You need to BUY IT! Oh, what caliber you looking at? BUY IT!!

FWIW, I see them on GB for $798.88

Maybe we'll see some better pricing after the holidays.

It's a mixed bag for me with Henrys. I have a .22 Mag, and while it's rack-and-pinion-style lever/bolt interface makes for incredibly smooth cycling, it's a clunky-looking gun. Just doesn't have the lines, contours or appeal of a common Marlin or Winchester, or even the Win clones.

Hard to argue with Henry's customer service, though, and that CCH receiver is gorgeous.

Too, there're the Italian clones of the 1873 Winchester with their CCH receivers. THOSE are truly magnificent rifles.

First world problems!

What model Henry do you have?

I've got a Henry H001 ca 2014 and a like new Winchester 94/22 ca 1975. Its shocking how similar they are, yet the 94 is built so much better. The reciever on the Henry is like pot metal. I love shooting 22 short from both and surprisingly the Henry is more accurate.

Yes, the receivers on their rimfire rifles are Zamak, but their centerfire stuff is steel from what I understand. I have the H001M (for WMR, or, Winchester Magnum Rimfire, or, .22 Magnum... all same same).

I have a Winchester 1892 in 357.... And I love it... recently picked up a Henry small game carbine in 22lr... The Henry has a Skinner peep sight and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite rifles...

I would love to get that case hardened Henry 16" carbine even if it is a tube loader... From that video it cycles 38 special no problem I'm just wondering what bullets they were... Have no problem cycling round nose 38's in my 1892 because their oal is close to a 357...a 44 mag is tempting also

I've been eyeballing one of those with the 16.5 barrel in 45 Colt to go with my Ruger Redhawk.

Does anyone know if it's true case hardening or if it's down using chemicals?

Bob, I sent Henry an email about it. Maybe somebody will be able to give us some more details.

They seem to have updated their website, but I was looking at these when they first came out and I remember reading a press release that it was real CCH that was contracted out to another gunsmithing shop, but I can't remember the name for the life of me. Hopefully that email clears things up

I'm torn.. I LOVE the case hardening (matches my Vaquero) but I dislike the octagonal barrel

I wonder if the round barrel could be installed on the CH receiver?

I'm planning on getting the 20" in .357 mag. I'm a sucker for color case hardening & octagonal barrels.

I don't think I've ever heard someone say they prefer round over octagon, haha.
