Would have preferred to have it as a pistol or SBR but the rifle version is still nice to shoot. Trigger is blah but you can pick up a ALG trigger for not that much and mags are proprietary. You could find the Kalashnikov and Puffgun mags for it but those are the only two types of mags I’ve found. Easy to shoot with rail for optics but featureless kind of sucks but it works. I’ve had mine for about a year and a half and no issues with it yet. At the end of the day it’s a pistol caliber rifle so it depends on what you want to use it for or if it’s a range toy. Kalashnikov USA has a bunch of accessories also.

i love mine and it shoots great! I've bought and sold guns throughout the years but this is one i would never sell. It's more fun to shoot than an AR

I shot mine for the first time yesterday, It was great! No recoil, The thumb rest on the fin grip was helpful and it was accurate. I was lucky enough to buy mine from a fellow Calgunner for $800. It's my 4th AK, first in 9mm. Buy it, you will not regret it.

I was going to get an HK USC but comparing the Kali 9 to the HK at the store The Kali 9 just felt more solid and I liked the feel better. I ended up with the Kali and I haven’t regretted it. It’s a very fun gun. I just wish the mags weren’t proprietary.

I freakin’ love mine. Paid retail for it and would do it again. It is definitely an “AK” and not as refined as my MPX, but it is eats everything I feed it and runs like a champ. Fantastically fun gun to shoot.

Btw, the mags are not proprietary. It uses the same mags as the Vityaz/Saiga-9 (but obviously these are not as available as Glock mags).

Don?t judge. It could be a Terminal List situation. Or Walking Dead. The point is that he enjoyed shooting the gun enough that it mitigated the offing of his friends. That says a lot about the rifle.

Got one and I agree that the trigger is lacking. Installed an ALG trigger and installed a rubber pad as I find the stock short. Purchased a left thumb grip to accommodate left handed shooting.

It?s a fun plinker that I can shoot on the pistol section.

If you wait for the right time, the factory magazines can be had for less than $20 each.

This is an example (of course the deal is over now):

I have both and enjoy them both. The Kali 9 is lighter ad less recoil, but I love that .45 as well. I say get both.

I?ve had my Kali 9 for about a year now and have taken it shooting four times and it doesn?t skip a beat. Changed up the trigger with an ALG UL and wood furniture and I couldn?t be happier.

I?ve run everything from factory ammo to my reloads and it eats everything.

One issue I had was with the factory Kalishnikov mag, it just doesn?t seat well in the mag-well so no I pretty much run Puff Gun mags.

I placed my order. Be here Friday. Cost me $1k out the door but I?m excited to get it. Already ordered some 10s from Kalashnikov USA as they?re on sale right now.

Are the 10s serviceable to 30s if the mag ban does go away?

Very easy replacement of a sleeve with a spring. I?m not sure if the pin also has to be replaced. Parts are available from K-USA.

I'm curious, and if you don't mind me asking, where did you get that price? One of my local dealers has it listed for about $1250...

Got it off gunbroker. My dealer only charges $52.19 for FFL transfers and tax if it wasn?t already collected. So it?s like $1020 out the door.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1011294026 There was also a $20 coupon attached the day I ordered it.

I tried my friend's Kali-9, it was super-fun to shoot.

I believe it has a closed-bolt blowback design, pretty simple to clean and maintain. The 'simulated' suppressor does a pretty good job hiding the long(er) barrel, and it looks pretty cool.

It's my favorite 9mm carbine, so far.

I am tempted. The long fake suppressor and long extended barrels always bugged me on these. Of that thing were real it would be awesome. Sadly not in Kali. All the positive reviews above are encouraging.

I went with the JMac ST-6 for the fixed Magpul SL-M.

Send me a pm if you?re interested in the factory stock.
