Recreational shooting near southern san diego
Hi guys, this is my first post so if i ask/say anything wrong. let me have it.
Im new to California, and new to guns, although i did get my CCW and glock as soon as i moved here last year, i am not a fan of indoor range shooting, im sure we can all agree that outdoor shooting by ourselves is great. so i was curious if anybody is willing to share any recreational shooting spots in the area. |

BLM land in San Diego County is closed for the season. It is open all year in Imperial County. Do bring shorts, sandals, sun block and a wife beater shirt as it's well over 100 degrees out there.

$25k and I’ll sell you a half acre lot with a small cabin in borrego springs. It has a 1000+ yard range right out the front door. Imperial BLM is less than 5 miles away. I’ve walked my dog from my property to imperial BLM, popped off some rounds and walked back. About 1.5hour drive from San Diego City
Surrounding area, the mountains in the background is Imperial county BLM shooting area Property Range with mountains as back stop. I’ve shot over 1000yards here State Park off roading with views down the street from cabin Cabin Last edited by AK5.56; 06-13-2020 at 3:34 PM.. |

I use a 2k watt generator to power it right now. Was going to add solar but haven’t got that far. Sdge is about 3-400 yards away. I’d ball park 10-20k to bring power to the lot of you really wanted it. The generator has more than enough for what I use the property for

Yup. Most the lots are abandoned or just storage. People buy containers and drop them off and use them as storage Or use the lot to store their trailers. The immediate neighbors are rarely out and when they are I usually go over to the Imperial BLM if I’m going to be shooting a lot or something louder than the .22, 9mm, skeet(12 guage). The immediate neighbors are all gun owners as well but we try to be considerate of noise if we end up out there at the same time. The desert community is full of considerate like minded people.
If you’re interested and have more questions PM me. |
