Default Waterfowl in the sierras?

Has anyone ever done it? East vs West? I've heard Mono held a historically large population but I'm not sure it's there anymore. If I do end up giving it a go, I'd probably end up on the eastern side.

Interesting idea. I’ve seen mallards at a few high elevation lakes in the sierras while deer hunting and also some honkers. Based on numbers I have seen and where I was I’m not hiking ten miles to shoot a mallard or two. That being said I have a seat in a blind over flooded rice.

ducks come and go down the owens valley, you can hunt them but high numbers will not the be norm.
