Default Benjamin Marauder

What could possibly go wrong with buying a used Benjamin Marauder BP2264 in .22cal? Itís missing the magazine, no rings, no scope. Just the rifle for $220. Canít try it because itís inside the store. The tank is filled up to 2500 psi.

You'll need either a foot pump or a compressor or take it to a scuba shop to get air in it (maybe the only fill air tanks, and not actual rifle?).

I had one of those and sold it after buying an FX. It is a good rifle and $220 is a good deal. Mine was a tack driver with JSB 18.1 pellets. Some 22 models had accuracy issues.

Be advised that the price of the gun is just the entry fee. As others said, you’ll need a hand pump, compressor, or tank. Hand pumps can be found pretty cheap, but they’re a workout. If you’re balking at $220, just step away.

Be warned, if you move to PCP for files, it gets addictive and you’ll never go back to pump or break barrels.

Based on the serial number, it was manufactured Dec 2020. I think $220 is better than good deal. It makes one think ,Ēwhatís wrong with it?Ē I know nothing of air rifle or pcp but I read about people having rust in their tank because of water seeping through the pump. How much would it take to replace it? I know I need to buy a pump or tank at least to get me started on this.

If it has corrosion in the air cylinder, you could replace it with a aluminum one and shave 1-1/2 pounds of weight. https://www.airgunproshop.com/shop/m...ge-hole-gen-2/

Probably nothing wrong with it but I would buy this instead if I were in the market

Pick it up and with the money saved, send it to Tim McMurray at MAC1 and have him go through it and tune it as well.

I just got my .25 back from Tim, I had a small amount of corrosion under the breech, he replaced all the rubber seals with polyurethane seals, he says it should go another 20 years!!, I got lucky, mine is a tack driver with the FX Hybrid slugs.
It sits in a Coyote brown Boydís laminated thumbhole stock, sheís a beauty. If you can get that gun for $220 you need to jump on it.

Rich
