Buckmark help needed
Hi,
Never owned a 22. Looking to buy my first 22 pistol. It looks like the only 22 available is the Buckmark and only certain models. There are several that I like, but I hate those finger grooves they build into the grips. Can the factory grips that have finger grooves be removed and replaced with wood grips with no grooves? Thanks for any info. |

The contour is a great option. You always change the grips. Older models have simpler grips. But there are other brands available, but the Buck mark is a great choice.

AFAIK, only the base " Camper " model is relatively easy to find replacement after market grips. The Camper's handle/grip is designated as " UFX ".
The rest of the model line, those that fall under the " URX " like the Contour, Standard, etc. equipped from the factory with rubber finger grooves AND those that fall under the " UDX " line like those beautiful wood grips model with finger grooves, have sparse aftermarket replacement grips. There was an aftermarket vendor (forgot the name of the outfit) that makes adapter so you can fit 1911 grips to the Buck Mark, but it seems it is out of business too. The finger grooves are great. Don’t knock it until you have shot it. But the options are endless .
Custom Target Shooting made for your individual hand https://www.precisiontargetpistolgri...nd_Rifles.html Rosewood https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/B5152869 Volquartsen https://volquartsen.com/products/935-laminated-grips Hogue: https://www.hogueinc.com/grips/brown...s/buckmark-urx You can buy this grip adapter and add any 1911 grip on the market https://striplincustom.com/product/b...-grip-adapter/ Go wild. The Buckmark is a very easy gun to customize. Last edited by JoyfulJoker; 12-25-2020 at 6:27 AM.. |

damn it, I keep clicking on this thread thinking I am about to tell someone to tighten the screws on the top strap again...
I have a URX and love it, it is actually the only gun that I like with finger groves... that being said if I had to do it over again I would have bought one without simply because the ones with have a different frame than the ones without and the ones without have a much greater selection of aftermarket grips out there - those ones from Altamont look pretty good and those Striplin ones look like a knock off of someone else design... |

I have the Hogue grips on mine.
I enjoyed the finger groove grips that originally came with my Buckmark, but I wanted to try something different and I am glad I did.

Having owned a 1990's era Buck Mark with those plastic slab grips, when I got a newer URX Buck Mark with the grooved grips, I thought it was an improvement.
But everyone should eventually know a good grip fit for their hand when it comes to handguns, especially when hand sizes are different. |

I found it funny that the Rosewood ones from Midwest don't fit any of the models of Buckmarks, but are for the Buckmark Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk |

Yes. I have one. Purchased from Ammo Bros. It is hard not to turn it into a Striplin custom...

You do know that the BuckMark is available without the finger grooves right? You can get the Camper, without grooves. As well as two different models that have wood grips. Also, changing grips isn’t easy on the Buckmark like it is on the 1911. Just go to brownings website and look at all of their California Compliant Buckmarks. From there, you should find 5+ different options that do not have the finger grooves.
